Fab Freebie: Eat Bright

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries.***

This week we’re keeping the eco-friendly theme going with a freebie from Bright and Bold. They’re a great online resource for all sorts of green home wares, including the much-loved Envirosax bags and other items like jewelry and gifts. Plus, everything on the site ships to the US for free (our favorite four letter word), so you gotta give it them for making the world a happier place.

Bright And Bold Logo

This week we’re teaming up with Bright and Bold to offer up some earth-friendly products in a lunch-themed giveaway (shouldn’t more things in life be lunch-themed?). Three people can comment to win the perfect tools for a no-waste midday meal: their very own Klean Kanteen and a reusable Fresh Snack Pack bag. You’ve heard us rave about Klean Kanteens before (check it out here and here) and they’re consistently ranked as some of the best reusable, stainless steel bottles out there because they’re non-leaching and bpa-free. Which explains why we currently own three of them (only two are pictured because I keep one at work, so Burger’s filling in as an honorary member of the Klean Kanteen gang).

Bright Bold Kanteens

Along with the reusable water bottles, our trio of  winners will also score the Fresh Snack Pack bags which are a great reusable alternative to the traditional Ziploc disposable sandwich bags. They’re made of food safe, nontoxic, PVC-free, Pthalate-free plastic that’s easy to clean and it even folds out to make a placemat. So you no longer have to worry about getting mustard on your latest work assignment (or am I the only one who does that?).

Bright Bold Prizes

Here are this week’s entry details:

  • PRIZE: A reusable lunch kit from Bright and Bold (a 27oz Klean Kanteen in your color of choice & a Fresh Snack Pack of sandwich-sized lunch bags- valued at $34)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’LL EAT BRIGHT” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us your favorite go-to option for lunch? Grabbing a bite at a local restaurant? Indulging in last night’s leftovers? A classic PB&J?
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Wednesday, August 12th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: USA and our northern neighbors in Canada
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner(s) will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Until then, happy lunching…

    I’LL EAT BRIGHT!!!

My favorite lunch is the Reuben Sandwich combo at Great Garden here in Downtown Richmond. You get a sandwich, pickle, chips, drink and a cookie all for $5.75. However, I feel like an elephant afterwards, and $5.75 is a lot to spend on a lunch, so that’s a rare treat. Typically my awesome husband packs me a surprise lunch, and I don’t peek until lunch. I don’t like picking out my lunch in the mornings because by the time food time rolls around I think of what I would have preferred over it! He even draws hearts on my bag :)

last night’s leftovers generally turn out to be my go to carry to work lunch meal. SO much easier than having to prep another meal….though I do love the occasional sandie or salad as well!

I absolutely love pasta! So when I make it, I’ll make the whole box and eat it for lunch for the next few days. And you can always add yummy things like peas or sun dried tomatoes to spice it up on day 2.

I’m lucky enough to live very close to where I work, so every day I go home to eat lunch with my husband. We’re on a tight budget right now because we’re getting ready to close on our first house, so it’s a turkey sandwich nearly every day! Boring, but good and cheap, so it works for us!

I’LL EAT BRIGHT: I like prepping a big pasta or salad dish on Sunday to carry me thru lunches at the beginning of the week. Other than that, sandwiches do the trick or a yogurt with granola and fruit.

We always take leftovers… anything sounds appetizing at work by the time noon rolls around, but leftovers just never seem as exciting when that’s what you’ve got to look forward to coming home to…

I’LL EAT BRIGHT! While eating leftovers might be most efficient, I love to pack a new sandwich or combine leftovers in a new way so that it feels like a new meal. Leftovers on a sandwich is a great way to reinvent last night’s meal.

I’LL EAT BRIGHT, and I love to pack last night’s leftovers for lunch. I don’t even feel guilty when we’re lazy and get Indian take-out, because I get a full dinner plus 3 days of deeeeelicious leftover lunches out of the deal, so it’s not even expensive when you think about it! Pasta, rice, and soup are other favorite dinner leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch. Even better: I’m putting the leftovers into lunch containers as part of regular clean-up, so there’s no extra work involved in packing lunch – it’s cheaper AND faster!

I like to make a big salad at home that I can have for a couple of days and I’ll add some sort of protein – hardboiled eggs, turkey, grilled chicken. I bring yogurt and fruit with me just about every day – blueberries, strawberries, watermelon, bananas or apples. I’m lucky that I have access to a cafeteria with hot foods including soups (great during the winter months), salad and sandwich bars, etc. I usually bring part of my lunch from home and supplement from the cafeteria.

I’m entering on behalf of my hubby, but his go to lunch is a deli meat sandwich, packed from home.

I recently bought him some linen snack/sandwich bags but the fabric made the sandwich dry out in less than an hour, so the reusable plastic envelope would be a definite upgrade!
