Whether it’s googling around for a tutorial, answering comments on the go, or making a list of project materials on our phone, gadgets have definitely wormed their way into our DIY routine. So we thought one of you might enjoy being hooked up with over $700 worth of Microsoft’s newest Windows devices – a Surface RT and a Windows Phone. The Surface is like a tablet, laptop, and e-reader in one – and has fun features like a kickstand for watching movies and a spill-proof keyboard for, well, when your toddler watches movies. And the Windows Phone is equally kid-friendly since it allows you create a dedicated “Kid’s Corner” so they can play without accidentally deleting all of your emails.

I love a tablet for it’s portability. It’s so much easier to browse the web in the evening on one instead of lugging the laptop into the living room. And travel! Oh travel! I’m a librarian that will always love her books, but not having to pack ten of them while going on vacation? Fabulous!

My phone is a necessity, check work emails, check in on facebook a couple times a day, check the weather (totally watching next weekend for my daughter’s birthday party), I have my calorie counting app, my runkeeper app, my calendar, which I would would be lost without, you name it, I completely rely on it every day! My tablet gets used mostly for Slacker radio/Pandora and entertaining kiddos, occasionally for fb, and on the weekends, for catching up on blogs that I didn’t get to read during the week. Also do a lot of online research with it. My hubby got it for me for Mother’s Day last year, but he tends to steal it when it’s laying around the house and I’d LOVE to win this and be able to give him his own tablet for Father’s Day this year (early gift because I don’t think I could keep it hidden long enough)

I am so much more organized with my smartphone. My husband and I sync our calendar and grocery list which helps tremendously. And I love my Kindle app for whenever I get stuck waiting somewhere.
