Fab Freebie: Come To My Windows

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

And this week’s lucky winner is Amy (who says she has an “unhealthy addiction to my iPhone, between email, Facebook, Pinterest etc. but I put it away for family time.”) Congrats!

Whether it’s googling around for a tutorial, answering comments on the go, or making a list of project materials on our phone, gadgets have definitely wormed their way into our DIY routine. So we thought one of you might enjoy being hooked up with over $700 worth of Microsoft’s newest Windows devices – a Surface RT and a Windows Phone. The Surface is like a tablet, laptop, and e-reader in one – and has fun features like a kickstand for watching movies and a spill-proof keyboard for, well, when your toddler watches movies. And the Windows Phone is equally kid-friendly since it allows you create a dedicated “Kid’s Corner” so they can play without accidentally deleting all of your emails.

Windows Giveaway2

  • PRIZE: A Microsoft Surface RT with Touch Cover and a Windows Phone (a Nokia Lumia 920 for AT&T customers, a Windows Phone 8X by HTC for others)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WINDOWS ME” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the most invaluable thing that your computer, tablet, or phone does for you? Is it the ability to check your email on the go? Do you love packing your tablet or e-reader on vacation instead of lugging a stack of books? Or would you be lost without access to Facebook?
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, May 8th or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winners. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Microsoft.

    WINDOWS ME!

I love being able to check my emails on the go, reading books, or playing games on both my iPad and smartphone while I’m traveling. It makes the trip so much easier both by being connected and knowing I’m not missing anything important, and by providing me with entertainment so those longer trips go by more quickly.

My phone is on its last legs, though, and I’m sure my husband wouldn’t mind it if we had two tablet-type devices!

The most important thing my computer does right now is let me both work and play without much setup time. My computer is invaluable for keeping track of all my notes for classes and data for papers I’m writing for classes! But I also love the convenience of having my email and other social outlets readily available for in-between classes.

However, it does get so burdensome to lug around a computer all day 5 days a week. I would love to have a tablet or e-reader for traveling or even just regular day-to-day activities, but that’s something we want to save up for eventually.

WINDOWSME!!!! I’ve never put all my recipes on my computer, I just store them in a binder. So one day I just snapped pics of my favorite ones, and when I go to the store. I can check and make sure I get all the ingredients. Not the most high tech way to manage them..but it works for me!

    WINDOWS ME!

True story: My P.O.S ex-bf who broke my heart is the icon in this ad!…he was on the design team and is wearing a t-shirt I bought for him for xmas. I literally moved to a new city in part to run away from my old life. My first week here, a bus pulls up and who do I see in the ad?! Him! I moved in part so I wouldn’t ever “run into him on the street” and it happens anyway. Oh well.

Ok, I would LOVE this tablet becasue of the paint app–it looks amazing!

Wow- what a great giveaway!! A smart phone is invaluable for my consulting work because it provides access to clients no matter whether I’m at the coffee shop or sitting at my desk. But, a close second is the ability to prop it right up on the kitchen counter while trying a new recipe I’ve found online.

Windows me! I have an iPad through work and its amazing! I don’t have a smart phone (shocking isn’t it?) so this device keeps me connected to the 21st century. I’m embarrassed to say that as early as 2 years ago, I had to power up the laptop to check my email. I’d love to win my own tablet because the one from work gets taken away from me every summer.
