Fab Freebie: Collar Me Bad

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

We know that many of you, like us, have a trusty canine companion by your side during your various DIY projects. So this week’s giveaway is all about making sure your hound is as stylish as your home. And who do we have to thanks for that? Jon Wye and his specialty line of Dog Collars by FredFred.

fredfredcollarsforcontest

Jon is a Washington, DC based designer who’s got a pretty sweet line of belts and t-shirts for us humans, but it was his collection of dog collars (named after Jon’s dog Fred) that caught our eye. The designs are dynamic (from the fun Dogs in Space scene to the intricate India print) and they’re all 100% leather with specially made stainless steel accents. Jon, er, Fred was even kind enough to send Burger a specially sized (1/2″ wide, instead of 1″ standard) Black and Tan Polka Dot collar and he LOVES it. Brings out his eyes, eh?

burgerwearingfredfredcollar

Want one? Then just comment on this post with the words “COLLAR ME” by Wednesday, April 22nd at 8pm EST. Three randomly selected winners will get their pick of any style and size from the full Fred Fred line (including the soon-to-be-added 1/2″ varieties for smaller breeds). And while you’re commenting with the words “collar me”, we’d also love to know if there’s something you currently do or buy to go that extra mile for your pup… a special treat? a doggie massage? a stylish collar perhaps? These three prizes can be shipped anywhere in the USA and, as always, only one entry per e-mail address is allowed. Winners will be announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Collar me! :) We’re getting soooo excited, we leave three weeks from today to fly home and pick up our beloved pooch Kiki! When the Army moved us to Hawaii in January it was too cold to ship her so she’s been staying on Nana and Papa’s farm these past few months ~ but we can’t wait to get her back! She’d be rockin’ island style in one of these collars ;) Keep up the good work guys! :)

    COLLAR ME!!!!!

Buddy and Mr. Flops love what I call “doggyssage” – basically, doggie massage! They’re both quite muscular guys, so they love gettin’ the ol’ muscle rubdown.

Plus, we’re suckers for continuing to buy them plush toys with squeakers, even though all they want to do is “kill” the squeaker and eat the fuzz.

Rotisserie chicken from the grocery store is a favorite around these parts, too.

p.s. Mr. Flops just gave the secret chihuahua hand sign to Burger. :)

Our dog, Big Margo, is not our world, our child, firstborn, or baby. She is the dog. Because of this, we figure rescuing her from a life of producing puppies in a “puppy mill” is a big enough treat for her. Plus, at 150+ pounds just letting her take up space in our little house is a big deal. :-)
Okay, I admi I do occaisionally buy her a soup bone.

My beloved Yorkies Mario & Mia both have medical issues. Mario had a liver shunt when he was a puppy (has since been corrected) and Mia has seasonal ear allergies! But both are faithful travel companions (we take them to NYC as much as possible and even took Mario to Boston). Do you take Burger on any of your road trips? Burger is just such a doll :)

Collar me! Nice things for our pups…the big jar of freeze-dried beef treats by the back door is always on hand, comfy new beds from West Paw (made from recycled plastic bottles), once a month visits to the local pet store for new toys, and taking them on vacation with us to dog friendly and fun places to explore. We just love our dogs.

Collar Me, please!! I have a 100 lb. German Shepherd who stays indoors all day long (I have no backyard right now). He doesn’t like going for walks down my neighborhood street, so I *literally* go the extra mile, and take him to Clinton Lake State Park so he can run off leash with me on the trails!! To know he’s happy and he’s staying healthy with exercise is worth all the extra muddy clean-up I have to do :-)

COLLAR ME! My schnauzer, Henry (also known as Henri–said in a very snooty French voice, and Henry Higgines—depending on my mood) get to sleep right on my legs, and I often wake up with a stiff back because I would rather arrange myself around him then disturb him.

    “COLLAR ME”
Our Chihuahua is cold about 97% of the time (we live in the great NW) and refuses to wear sweaters so she is treated to a heating pad on the couch almost every day. Our dogs also get homemade doggie cakes on their birthdays, the occasional homemade biscuit, and sleep in our bed (we often share a pillow). If that isn’t pampering I don’t know what is?

Collar me!!! Please please for my little Stevie who is also a very spoiled chihuahua! He was named after the actor Steve Buscemi (I always thought he looked like a chihuahua) :) He gets spoiled every night with a cooked dinner-turkey or chicken with veggies and rice. I also cannot pass up cute stuffed animals for him to play with, even though he just rips them up! AND…it was just his tenth birthday on April 17th!
