We know that many of you, like us, have a trusty canine companion by your side during your various DIY projects. So this week’s giveaway is all about making sure your hound is as stylish as your home. And who do we have to thanks for that? Jon Wye and his specialty line of Dog Collars by FredFred.
Jon is a Washington, DC based designer who’s got a pretty sweet line of belts and t-shirts for us humans, but it was his collection of dog collars (named after Jon’s dog Fred) that caught our eye. The designs are dynamic (from the fun Dogs in Space scene to the intricate India print) and they’re all 100% leather with specially made stainless steel accents. Jon, er, Fred was even kind enough to send Burger a specially sized (1/2″ wide, instead of 1″ standard) Black and Tan Polka Dot collar and he LOVES it. Brings out his eyes, eh?

Three randomly selected winners will get their pick of any style and size from the full Fred Fred line (including the soon-to-be-added 1/2″ varieties for smaller breeds). And while you’re commenting with the words “collar me”, we’d also love to know if there’s something you currently do or buy to go that extra mile for your pup… a special treat? a doggie massage? a stylish collar perhaps? Collar me! Baxter, our shelter rescue, is the baby of our family. He’s been rocking out a collar with waves on it for awhile and needs a new one. We spoil him with organic birthday treats TWICE each year: once on his real birthday and once on the day he came to live with us.

Collar Me! The flame collar would sure match the personality of Mars, but then I’d have to buy another one for Jupiter so she wouldn’t feel left out. They get every new doggie treat Costco comes out with! I don’t do that for my kids!

Collar Me! Our golden retriever, Angel, just ruined her collar going for a “roll” in my parent’s pasture when we went home for Easter. The result was not pleasant, and we didn’t even try to salvage it! I guess that’s what happens when a suburban dog goes country.

COLLAR ME! Our dachshund, Buddy, has a rare illness and has to take 2 to 5 pills every day. We lovingly wrap those suckers in Hawaiian bread and he happily eats them.

Collar Me, please! Griffin, my yellow lab, is also the love of my life! He is always there to give me kisses, or barrel roll into me. He is a fabulous frisbee catcher! There’s probably not much I wouldn’t do for Griffin. He gets bi weekly “peticures” eats only 100% organic, all natural grub (which is very expensive!) He gets to jump up in bed during the night and take up all of my leg space. But he’s worth it:-)

COLLAR ME! My dog would look good in one of these! He’s my best bud. He gets to play fetch at least once a day, barring no rain. He sits on the couch with me during my shows. I only make him brush his teeth every other week. And the boy gets more treats than a kid on Halloween.

I have two Border Collies who shed like nobodies business. We use the Furminator on them every week. If you haven’t used a Furmintaor undercoat rake I highly recommend it. I could knit a sweater from the hair I get off them. They love the attention (and ocassionally eating a hairball) and I love not having to empty the vacuum canister 30 times while cleaning the house.

Collar Me! My giant Max gets baths in our master bath soaking tub every other Thursday. This is mostly due to the fact I can’t stand the smell of dog but also, it makes him look so beautiful!

Actually, collar DeeDee! DeeDee is my little chihuahua who looks very similar to Burger. She is a sassy lady who went through 3 homes before I rescued her. She has random seizures so no one wanted her. When I notice she is having one (she looks like she is drunk!), I pick her up and hold her tight and talk to her in a soothing voice. She is back to normal in just a few minutes. DeeDee told me she wants one of these cool collars, so please pick us!!

Potter loves to get on the bed, especially when it’s warm enough to have all of the windows open and the breeze blows across our bed. But he’s too big to sleep with us and too, well, dog to lay all over our white comforter. So we bought him a special blanket (that matches our bedding, of course). After we make the bed in the morning, we lay “his blanket” over the comforter, and he can lay there all day if he likes. He knows he’s only allowed on the bed when his blanket is there, so it’s when when. He gets bed time and we keep our comforter clean:)

Oh, RAFA needs this!!! I once bought our little guy a COACH collar from the factory outlet stores. It was on clearance for $20 and all the clearance items were half off. $10. It was a sweet deal! But he is in need of a new collar. One of these would look great on him. So handsome!!

Harry currently gets to go to daycare Monday through Friday because of crazy work schedules and the fact that he has unlimited amounts of energy! On the weekends he gets lots of walks and time playing with a tennis ball.
