We know that many of you, like us, have a trusty canine companion by your side during your various DIY projects. So this week’s giveaway is all about making sure your hound is as stylish as your home. And who do we have to thanks for that? Jon Wye and his specialty line of Dog Collars by FredFred.
Jon is a Washington, DC based designer who’s got a pretty sweet line of belts and t-shirts for us humans, but it was his collection of dog collars (named after Jon’s dog Fred) that caught our eye. The designs are dynamic (from the fun Dogs in Space scene to the intricate India print) and they’re all 100% leather with specially made stainless steel accents. Jon, er, Fred was even kind enough to send Burger a specially sized (1/2″ wide, instead of 1″ standard) Black and Tan Polka Dot collar and he LOVES it. Brings out his eyes, eh?

Three randomly selected winners will get their pick of any style and size from the full Fred Fred line (including the soon-to-be-added 1/2″ varieties for smaller breeds). And while you’re commenting with the words “collar me”, we’d also love to know if there’s something you currently do or buy to go that extra mile for your pup… a special treat? a doggie massage? a stylish collar perhaps? One of my dogs is a super picky eater and will not eat store bought treats. So instead I make these garlic and chicken liver treats (which, chicken liver, eww, and also, they make my kitchen stink when I bake them!) that she loves! What a spoiled pup.

It’s officially swimming season, and my lab’s old collar gets pretty gross from all of her dips in the lake. We like to get her a new “fancy” collar every spring that she can wear on her swim-free days.

Collar me please! Our sexy black cocker spaniel, Molly, goes to the puppy spa every six weeks…she gets her hair done more than I do:) She puffy hearts the spa at Pet Smart. She gets her nails and teeth done, a luxurious oatmeal lavender bath and comes out with a beautiful haircut and bows in her ears…which she rips out before we leave the store. She would be such a sexy beast in one of the collars!

My adoring mutt-face does, in fact, get doggy massage often. I’m too cheap to pay someone to do it, so I learned how. People think I’m crazy until they see him go limp and compliant after a couple of minutes. It’s a guaranteed nap inducer! Everybody wins. :-)

“Collar Me”- Avery is our yellow lab who does lots of swimming during the summer would love to have a new hip collar. She has to get allergy shots every week gets a good slice a cheese after every shot (since she can’t have any other treats) and also gets to sleep on the sofa, take long walks in swim in the water.

My lil Pixie Bella Nima (she’s a Shih tzu/Maltese mix) is a spoiled lil baby…who really thinks she’s a human. In the mornings while I get ready for work, I take an extra 10-15 minutes of “mommy and me” time with her and pick her up and carry her around while I get things ready to go.
