We know that many of you, like us, have a trusty canine companion by your side during your various DIY projects. So this week’s giveaway is all about making sure your hound is as stylish as your home. And who do we have to thanks for that? Jon Wye and his specialty line of Dog Collars by FredFred.
Jon is a Washington, DC based designer who’s got a pretty sweet line of belts and t-shirts for us humans, but it was his collection of dog collars (named after Jon’s dog Fred) that caught our eye. The designs are dynamic (from the fun Dogs in Space scene to the intricate India print) and they’re all 100% leather with specially made stainless steel accents. Jon, er, Fred was even kind enough to send Burger a specially sized (1/2″ wide, instead of 1″ standard) Black and Tan Polka Dot collar and he LOVES it. Brings out his eyes, eh?

Three randomly selected winners will get their pick of any style and size from the full Fred Fred line (including the soon-to-be-added 1/2″ varieties for smaller breeds). Collar Me! My husband and I have Madison (miniature dachshound) and Mr. Bo (schnauzer who is a rescue) Either one would look adorable in one of these collars! The vet says Bo is around 9, we have had him since around last Halloween, and he is definitely enjoying having a good home. Madison will be 5 this September.

We have two med-sized doggies (55 lbs or so). One of our dogs, Wickman, can’t sleep unless he’s on an “elevated cushy spot.” So we find him on the sofa a lot (not good!). What we’ve done to break him of this habit is get his his own ottoman with a puppy blanket for a cover. It’s functional and doesn’t wreck our furniture or design.

Collar me times 4! We have to buy special allergy food for 3 of our 4 Goldens, and it costs a whopping $87 for a 27lb bag (which they demolish in about 2 weeks).

Collar Me! We just adopted a pound dog two weeks ago and have fallen in love quickly. Wyatt, a Swiss Mountain Dog mix, would look great in the blue and red polka dot collar. He is full of puppy enthusiasm, so right now we splurge on toys that will keep him busy (and ones that he can’t chew apart within minutes). His favorite is a Kong stuffed with kibble and frozen for a couple of hours. For a special treat, we put a teaspoon of peanut butter in the Kong as well.

Winnie Woo, airedale terrier, would look smashing in any of those graphics. I’m adding one to her wish list right now. and I can still use the boomerang tag my favorite doggie find with a new collar. It means no more dangling tags to jingle or get caught.

My fur-child Murphy, the boxer, is my favorite running partner. He has run as far as 13 miles with me! He plays hard so his collars regularly get dirty…we are always replacing them. This would be great to get a new one!

I think the question is what don’t we do for our dog? He’s our kid and anything I can do to make his life better, then that’s what I do. He sleeps with us, gets long walks 2 times a day, special food, rides in the car whenever, etc. It’s really ridiculous!

COLLAR ME! We treat our puppy (a 90-lb Rhodesian Ridgeback mix) like one of the kids. He sleeps inside and eats leftover ribs…very spoiled!! Every time Old Navy updates their Dog Supply collars, Red gets a new one. And he spends most of his time on the boat while the guys are fishing. Hopefully one day he will get a little puppy/brother he can play with. :)

Collar Me! :) I was just telling my fiance that we need to get our dog a collar — he’s collar-less right now and his neck looks a little bare.
As for special things we do for our dog, our favorite danish bakery makes special treats for dogs, and our dog goes nuts for them! He has an intolerance to beef (makes him itchy) so they’re a great substitute for grocery store treats. Who ever heard of a dog that can’t eat beef? :) We love him all the same, though.

I def have been going what some would consider to be “above and beyond” for my little Ries lately. She has undergone allergy testing and I’m not giving her allergy shots to hopefully stop her awful itching. It’s rather costly, if anyone is familiar, but clearly I would do anything for her- she’s a member of my family! Besides that, she is pretty spoiled… snow boots, sweater, cozy bed, fun toys… all in the name of love!
