Fab Freebie: Book Worms Rejoice

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

So many book-hungry people out there! This giveaway hit its 10,000 cap within 24 hours, so we’re already back with a winner. The lucky worm is… Melissa (who keeps her favorite books in a bedside cabinet, a living room end table, and on a special display shelf in the family room. She believes “all good book nerds have them in all parts of the house!”). Congrats Melissa!

Our book release is officially here! Woo hoo! And we’re celebrating by giving away books this week. But not just our book. Lots o’ books. In fact, some of them will even come signed by some pretty awesome people. Woot! We’ve been gobbling up so many design, decor, and home books lately that we thought it’d be fun to share some of our recent faves from our library. So in addition to a signed copy of our new book, you’ll also be getting copies of the following (marked with an asterisk when signed!):

  • The Things That Matter by Nate Berkus
  • The Handbuilt Home by Ana White*
  • Design*Sponge at Home by Grace Bonney
  • Home by Novogratz by Robert & Cortney Novogratz*
  • Style Me Pretty Weddings by Abby Larson* (which releases next month)
  • Happier at Home by Gretchen Rubin*

BookGiveawaySMP

  • PRIZE: Copies of all of the books shown above, including signatures from us, Gretchen Rubin, Abby Larson, the Novogratzes, and Ana White!
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BOOK ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what special place in your home do you keep your favorite books? Do they get a prime spot on your coffee table? Or do you have a large collection of faves that fill a bookcase somewhere? Maybe your top pick at the moment just lives cozily on your night table?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Nov 7th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible – more on that here)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info.

    BOOK ME!

We created a library around the open stairwell on our second floor. I saw this idea in a model house and decided we could do it at home. Mind you, we are using hand-me-down and inexpensive bookshelves, not the beautiful built-in variety that were our inspiration.

My favorites are right on my nightstand… unfortunately it takes a while to read with a little toddler in the house… free time is an oddity!

We keep most of our books on bookshelves in our office, but any that we’re currently reading, just finished reading, or are planning to read soon are on the nightstand.

BOOK ME! We just moved a couple months ago, so currently my books are on some ugly existing built-ins in the basement, and on my nightstand, and still in boxes. But I have the perfect place for the special books planned, whenever I get on that – we’re going to replace the stair rail in the living/music/reading room with a bookshelf like this one: http://pinterest.com/pin/218917231857534588/ I can’t wait!

    Book me! Please!
I would keep it in my purse, even though it is pretty heavy looking, until I’m done reading it (for the first time).
Then it would go on the coffee table for all my guest to enjoy and envy.

Since I have a lot of textbooks I paid an arm and leg for, I keep them in a pretty bookshelf in my living room, and then fav magazines on the coffee table. Hey, if I paid that much for them I’m not going to stash them away!! That’s where I keep my fun books too.

BOOK ME! We literally have books in every room of the house. Cookbooks and cooking theory books in the kitchen, kids books in my stepson’s room (and scattered around the apartment), short stories and most recent reads in the master bedroom (we have bookshelves instead of nightstands), and everything else on the shelves in the living room. And, of course, whatever books my husband and I are currently reading float around depending on where we were reading last.

Since we moved into our first house 6 months ago, we have yet to tackle our book collection, so they currently live in a pile on the floor in one of our guest bedrooms (aka storage for all the junk we haven’t unpacked yet). We have dreams of building some built-in book shelves to frame out a window in our sitting room, though! Someday…..
