So many book-hungry people out there! This giveaway hit its 10,000 cap within 24 hours, so we’re already back with a winner. The lucky worm is… Melissa (who keeps her favorite books in a bedside cabinet, a living room end table, and on a special display shelf in the family room. Our book release is officially here! Woo hoo! And we’re celebrating by giving away books this week. But not just our book. Lots o’ books. In fact, some of them will even come signed by some pretty awesome people. Woot! We’ve been gobbling up so many design, decor, and home books lately that we thought it’d be fun to share some of our recent faves from our library. My husband’s grandfather just gave us the most awesome anniversary present- he made built-in bookcases across one whole wall of our living room, so we now have space and to spare for all our books. Our books “live” in a giant bookshelf in our tiny apartment for all to see. The husband is an avid history/sports/philosophy book junkie while I’m a collector of self-help/design/fiction books. They’re divided by color (and not subject) and so it’s always interesting to see my “It’s Not You, It’s Biology” next to my husbands, “Art of War.”

Where I keep my books depends on their subject. Fiction is in one book case; knitting, sewing, and architecture in another; gardening in another; cooking in another, all dependent on which room makes the most sense to read it in.

We are huge readers here and have books on shelves in the living room, in baskets on the coffee table, on both sides of our bed, next to our daughter’s bed (and she has her own bookcase of books), and even in the kitchen and dining room.
