Fab Freebie: Book Worms Rejoice

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

So many book-hungry people out there! This giveaway hit its 10,000 cap within 24 hours, so we’re already back with a winner. The lucky worm is… Melissa (who keeps her favorite books in a bedside cabinet, a living room end table, and on a special display shelf in the family room. She believes “all good book nerds have them in all parts of the house!”). Congrats Melissa!

Our book release is officially here! Woo hoo! And we’re celebrating by giving away books this week. But not just our book. Lots o’ books. In fact, some of them will even come signed by some pretty awesome people. Woot! We’ve been gobbling up so many design, decor, and home books lately that we thought it’d be fun to share some of our recent faves from our library. So in addition to a signed copy of our new book, you’ll also be getting copies of the following (marked with an asterisk when signed!):

  • The Things That Matter by Nate Berkus
  • The Handbuilt Home by Ana White*
  • Design*Sponge at Home by Grace Bonney
  • Home by Novogratz by Robert & Cortney Novogratz*
  • Style Me Pretty Weddings by Abby Larson* (which releases next month)
  • Happier at Home by Gretchen Rubin*

BookGiveawaySMP

  • PRIZE: Copies of all of the books shown above, including signatures from us, Gretchen Rubin, Abby Larson, the Novogratzes, and Ana White!
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BOOK ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what special place in your home do you keep your favorite books? Do they get a prime spot on your coffee table? Or do you have a large collection of faves that fill a bookcase somewhere? Maybe your top pick at the moment just lives cozily on your night table?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Nov 7th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible – more on that here)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info.

    Book me!

I have books everywhere…bookcases, side table in the bedroom, buffet in dining room, entry way console, storage totes in the basement (probably 4 full)! I started reading at a young age and read anything I could get my hands onto. I have a kindle, but nothing beats a brand new paperback or hardcover. I love the smell! (OK, now I’m weird.)

We have lots of bookshelves, although our books always end up everywhere because we use them so often. I’m a librarian and my DH is a professor, so, needless to say, we are HUGE bookworms!

BOOK ME! We have tall bookcases on either side of our living room fireplace where all the favorites go, from fiction to biographies to cookbooks. Your blog is what turned me on to books as decor, so now I occasionally pull out some pretty books when I style our coffee table for company! You might also enjoy the fact that we kind of Ikea-hacked the bookcases by stacking two Expedits: a 4×2 on top of a 2×2 on each side. They look almost built in, and we get tons of compliments on them! Your blog also gave me the idea to attack some books horizontally for added interest on the shelves, and to intersperse with other items like pottery!

I am a huge library-goer, so I only buy books that I enjoyed enough to want to own (along with highly-recommended ones from friends). My current read usually goes gets carried around with me. And my favorites are on a bookshelf in the living room.

BOOK ME! I keep books in every room of the house – with different piles in different rooms depending on genre. ‘Pretty’ or reference books are usually in the public areas with novels lurking in the bedrooms. And usually a large stack next to the bed just for good measure. :)
