Fab Freebie: Book Worms Rejoice

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

So many book-hungry people out there! This giveaway hit its 10,000 cap within 24 hours, so we’re already back with a winner. The lucky worm is… Melissa (who keeps her favorite books in a bedside cabinet, a living room end table, and on a special display shelf in the family room. She believes “all good book nerds have them in all parts of the house!”). Congrats Melissa!

Our book release is officially here! Woo hoo! And we’re celebrating by giving away books this week. But not just our book. Lots o’ books. In fact, some of them will even come signed by some pretty awesome people. Woot! We’ve been gobbling up so many design, decor, and home books lately that we thought it’d be fun to share some of our recent faves from our library. So in addition to a signed copy of our new book, you’ll also be getting copies of the following (marked with an asterisk when signed!):

  • The Things That Matter by Nate Berkus
  • The Handbuilt Home by Ana White*
  • Design*Sponge at Home by Grace Bonney
  • Home by Novogratz by Robert & Cortney Novogratz*
  • Style Me Pretty Weddings by Abby Larson* (which releases next month)
  • Happier at Home by Gretchen Rubin*

BookGiveawaySMP

  • PRIZE: Copies of all of the books shown above, including signatures from us, Gretchen Rubin, Abby Larson, the Novogratzes, and Ana White!
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BOOK ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what special place in your home do you keep your favorite books? Do they get a prime spot on your coffee table? Or do you have a large collection of faves that fill a bookcase somewhere? Maybe your top pick at the moment just lives cozily on your night table?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Nov 7th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible – more on that here)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info.

    Book me!

Our house is full of books which is weird because before crossing state lines last year we sold so many books and CD’s and DVD’s to a used book store we earned like $500. Which since they do buy back at like 25% what they hope to sell it for is kinda nuts. We have bookshelves in our classroom (yay home school!) and both kids have book space in their rooms then there’s the random bookshelves in other rooms. It’s kinda nuts really.

Our books are spread out across the house in more Expedit bookshelves than I’d care to admit to owning. Oh well. Someday we will be able to buy real furniture. :)

All books in my favorite series (Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon) are stacked in a tiered tall lamp we have, where the lamp legs have a few “shelves” contained between the legs. Gabaldon is a talented, creative author who knows how to tell such an enthralling story, and her books all have beautiful covers so they look great out on display!

    BOOK ME!

My books live scattered everywhere! There is not a certain place I keep them because I am generally reading multiple books at a time. It is more convenient for me to grab one of the dining room table while I eat my cereal in the morning or to grab one off the console on my way out the door. I love to read and by having books all over the place, I hope that whoever comes over will randomly pick one up and share in my love of reading too!

I have to say, I don’t really have a special place to keep my books. In all honesty, I’ve just started getting into having books worth keeping. I am a big fan of borrowing from the library, so I don’t have to find a place to store books!

We found amazing bookcases with glass doors on craigslist and created a wall of three. Our tv sits on top and I love changing out all the decor inside. It includes books we love, like yours [that we got this week], and other books that are just for looks.

My favorite books live on my nightstand – Where I can grab them during the few minutes that a mommy gets to herself each evening. My “other” favorite books, that get read a lot more (aka, children’s books), live on the side table in the living room, where my little girl can grab them and bring them to us to be read.
