Fab Freebie: Book Worms Rejoice

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

So many book-hungry people out there! This giveaway hit its 10,000 cap within 24 hours, so we’re already back with a winner. The lucky worm is… Melissa (who keeps her favorite books in a bedside cabinet, a living room end table, and on a special display shelf in the family room. She believes “all good book nerds have them in all parts of the house!”). Congrats Melissa!

Our book release is officially here! Woo hoo! And we’re celebrating by giving away books this week. But not just our book. Lots o’ books. In fact, some of them will even come signed by some pretty awesome people. Woot! We’ve been gobbling up so many design, decor, and home books lately that we thought it’d be fun to share some of our recent faves from our library. So in addition to a signed copy of our new book, you’ll also be getting copies of the following (marked with an asterisk when signed!):

  • The Things That Matter by Nate Berkus
  • The Handbuilt Home by Ana White*
  • Design*Sponge at Home by Grace Bonney
  • Home by Novogratz by Robert & Cortney Novogratz*
  • Style Me Pretty Weddings by Abby Larson* (which releases next month)
  • Happier at Home by Gretchen Rubin*

BookGiveawaySMP

  • PRIZE: Copies of all of the books shown above, including signatures from us, Gretchen Rubin, Abby Larson, the Novogratzes, and Ana White!
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BOOK ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what special place in your home do you keep your favorite books? Do they get a prime spot on your coffee table? Or do you have a large collection of faves that fill a bookcase somewhere? Maybe your top pick at the moment just lives cozily on your night table?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Nov 7th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible – more on that here)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info.

    “BOOK ME!”

We have what I like to call a “pew” couch. It’s got this interesting little shelf along the back for a few favorite books to live, just like the shelf behind a church pew which holds your bible and hymns. That’s where I keep my favorite/most frequently referenced craft & cook books as well as a few favorite novels.

I love organizing our vast book collection in two giant IKEA expedits. These gorgeous and simple shelves allow me to walk up, yell BOOK ME, and grab a great read. (I also sort them by color for a fun layer of design in those awesome expedit cubes. LOVE.)

Book Me!! The majority of our books live primarily in the library off our living room…but they seem to spread throughout the house. Your book came in the mail on Saturday though, and that one is currently living on the side table next to the couch. I sat and read through all of it Saturday afternoon (insert sheepish smile and shrug here). Best spent Saturday afternoon for awhile.

I am so happy that books have started using color instead of white or tan or black covers. It makes them art for your home and I keep them everywhere! Coffee tables, book shelves, next to my bed, stacked on my desk….instant inspiration.

Even if I didnt win this totally awesome prize, I am happy to have a few more book recommendations :)

And they are everywhere. But I’m planning a booksale in the spring, to clear out and raise money for a birth centre in Uganda, a lifesaving project I had the privilege of visiting earlier this year.

Book me! I only have a couple of good places to house my special books. One is a built-in vertical shelving unit that we built in next to our fireplace. The other is a shelf made out of barn wood from my husband’s great-grandparents’ homestead. And coming soon- our new Vallvik bookcase from IKEA that we purchased just this past weekend! We are putting it together tonight in hopes of having a little more room to house our books. Want to help us fill it up?
