So many book-hungry people out there! This giveaway hit its 10,000 cap within 24 hours, so we’re already back with a winner. The lucky worm is… Melissa (who keeps her favorite books in a bedside cabinet, a living room end table, and on a special display shelf in the family room. Our book release is officially here! Woo hoo! And we’re celebrating by giving away books this week. But not just our book. Lots o’ books. In fact, some of them will even come signed by some pretty awesome people. Woot! We’ve been gobbling up so many design, decor, and home books lately that we thought it’d be fun to share some of our recent faves from our library. My books are split between my desk at my office at grad school, my big bookshelf at my house, and my bookshelf at my mom’s house… I wish I had enough room to have them all displayed neatly, but with two fellow grad students as roommates, our place is just not big enough to contain our books.

I have books everywherrrrrre. But my faves sit on my table behind the couch — perfect for flipping through while cuddled up! (I was down right giddy when Amazon said they shipped your book last week. Can’t wait to see it tomorrow!)

When I get to decorate how I see fit, I usually have a coffee table book or two out, and the rest live organized on bookshelves. Fiction, nonfiction, and cookbooks are about the only categories I use to sort (and size, of course).
But in most of my living situations, I haven’t had a coffee table or would be more worried about people spilling things on my precious books than to want to leave them out. So I just keep the ones I’m reading in a pile by the bed!

All of our books live on three bookshelves. We had a TON more, but moving every few years living the military life finally forced me to scale down and only keep our very favorites, which still fill three large bookcases pretty well!

Because I still live at home with my parents, I don’t have a lot of “me” room or places to call my own. But what I do have is night stand with a whole drawer dedicated to my favorite books that I own and also my library books. I keep all my books in what I call my bookroom. I love that place. I of course keep myself surrounded with magazines and a book or two by my sofa. I can’t imagine my life without books.
