So many book-hungry people out there! This giveaway hit its 10,000 cap within 24 hours, so we’re already back with a winner. The lucky worm is… Melissa (who keeps her favorite books in a bedside cabinet, a living room end table, and on a special display shelf in the family room. Our book release is officially here! Woo hoo! And we’re celebrating by giving away books this week. But not just our book. Lots o’ books. In fact, some of them will even come signed by some pretty awesome people. Woot! We’ve been gobbling up so many design, decor, and home books lately that we thought it’d be fun to share some of our recent faves from our library. Book me! I keep my books on a bookshelf – so predictable! But I try to spice it up by organizing them by color and adding a few of my favorite small items (like pretty bookmarks handed down from my grandmother’s collection), handmade glass sculptures, and plants.

Really? You couldn’t ship these books to Canada? That’s really disappointing. I understand when a sponsor is hosting a giveaway and they won’t pay to ship their product but it can’t be that hard/expensive to pop some books in the post for us up north.

We ask every single vendor who comes to us to do a giveaway if they’ll ship internationally or at least to Canada. Not just once, usually twice! We LOVE you all and always want to open our giveaways to as many people as possible! It unfortunately comes down to their policies (many companies just have a shopping policy to send within the US, and when working with so many different authors/books many of them didn’t do Canadian shipping). Very sorry you’re unsatisfied, but we’re always your biggest advocates. We unfortunately just can’t change people’s policies or make them ship outside the US if they’re not set up for that! Since everyone doing giveaways ships things directly to the winner, it’s not a matter of us getting things and sending them out, it’s all about how the company is set up to ship their products. Hope that makes sense :)

I keep my collection of books in my living room, housed in Ikea’s Hemnes bookcases. They’re overflowing, but I can’t get rid of any of them! My very favorites are displayed on the shelves that are eye level, so they’re seen first as you look at the cases (tho I doubt anyone but me really notices that)!
