So many book-hungry people out there! This giveaway hit its 10,000 cap within 24 hours, so we’re already back with a winner. The lucky worm is… Melissa (who keeps her favorite books in a bedside cabinet, a living room end table, and on a special display shelf in the family room. Our book release is officially here! Woo hoo! And we’re celebrating by giving away books this week. But not just our book. Lots o’ books. In fact, some of them will even come signed by some pretty awesome people. Woot! We’ve been gobbling up so many design, decor, and home books lately that we thought it’d be fun to share some of our recent faves from our library. I use shelves to float my top cookbooks above the dining table and display art and history books as well as some very old school books from my grandmother on our entertainment center, and feature the rest on a cabinet found after much searching with the doors removed!

Book me! I have books all over, but they have to be high up so Maggie our 12 yr old daschund won’t get to them. She likes to chew the spines! Must be the glue? So they are on the mantle, my bedside table, the office table, and anywhere away from the dog!

As a high school English teacher, mother of three boys, and bibliophile, the question is where DON’T I keep books…..there isn’t a room in our house that isn’t stacked/covered/decorated in books…..my favorite new thing to do is to store holiday picture books away, then pull them out a few weeks before said holiday time begins. I put them in a pretty basket, and all three of my guys (even the nine year old) curl up on the floor/couch to read.

generally, all of my books live on a bookcase, but since we got rid of bad furniture and moved into our new house, we are sans bookshelf! i’m hoping to get 2 ikea ‘expedit’ shelves soon to display all of my babies! no such thing as favorites- i love ALL of my books :)

BOOK ME! I have my books in our “reading room”, which is really a small dining room space. I picked up a cool recycled paper magazine holder last year at Pier One. It holds SOME books, but mostly, I have books in piles, here & there. :)

I keep all of my books on a big shelf in my guest room. I think it’s the perfect spot because guests can grab a book (or two!) whenever they stay over! But my most favorite books are kept right on my night stand. I typically read an entire book through at one time, but I like to keep options just in case I need something different!!! <3

BOOK ME! My husband and I are actually building a new Craftsman-style bungalow right now. Our builder is a really nice guy… my dad. And, all future books will be stored in my graphic design studio/creative writing nook/library on wall-to-ceiling bookcases built by another nice guy… my father-in-law (see a trend here?) It’s the bookcase I’ve always wanted, complete with sliding ladder (I’m sure my toddler has plans for this thing). I love your site, BTW. I’ll keep checking in daily even if I don’t win the books.
