Fab Freebie: Book Worms Rejoice

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

So many book-hungry people out there! This giveaway hit its 10,000 cap within 24 hours, so we’re already back with a winner. The lucky worm is… Melissa (who keeps her favorite books in a bedside cabinet, a living room end table, and on a special display shelf in the family room. She believes “all good book nerds have them in all parts of the house!”). Congrats Melissa!

Our book release is officially here! Woo hoo! And we’re celebrating by giving away books this week. But not just our book. Lots o’ books. In fact, some of them will even come signed by some pretty awesome people. Woot! We’ve been gobbling up so many design, decor, and home books lately that we thought it’d be fun to share some of our recent faves from our library. So in addition to a signed copy of our new book, you’ll also be getting copies of the following (marked with an asterisk when signed!):

  • The Things That Matter by Nate Berkus
  • The Handbuilt Home by Ana White*
  • Design*Sponge at Home by Grace Bonney
  • Home by Novogratz by Robert & Cortney Novogratz*
  • Style Me Pretty Weddings by Abby Larson* (which releases next month)
  • Happier at Home by Gretchen Rubin*

BookGiveawaySMP

  • PRIZE: Copies of all of the books shown above, including signatures from us, Gretchen Rubin, Abby Larson, the Novogratzes, and Ana White!
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BOOK ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what special place in your home do you keep your favorite books? Do they get a prime spot on your coffee table? Or do you have a large collection of faves that fill a bookcase somewhere? Maybe your top pick at the moment just lives cozily on your night table?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Nov 7th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible – more on that here)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info.

    BOOK ME!

All of my favorite or “pretty” books have a special home on the bookcase my grandpa built that floats in the middle of the room behind my sofa so that everyone can see my beloved beauties. :)

Book me! I have a mini-library where I stash all my favorites that aren’t currently being read. The books I’m currently reading are usually scattered throughout the house. Drives my husband crazy… but he married a librarian.

“Book Me!” My favorite books I have grouped together by subject-I know, very OCD, but you should group like things together, even if they are book subjects! All of my other books take center stage in our library on oak shelves. They are some of my most prized possesions and I always have two or three that I am reading at once. Congrats on the new book!!!

We live in a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired Sears home that has two waist-high, built-in bookcases with beautiful glass doors. I keep most of my favorite books in there. :)

My books live all over! Most are on the bookshelves in my living room, but some pretty favorites stay on the coffee table for eye candy. And whatever I am currently reading stays on my nightstand- which is right now an embarrassingly large stack.

    BOOK ME!
I bought my house almost entirely because of the built in original 1930s bookshelves next to the fireplace and the built ins the previous owner built himself in the basement to match the rest of the historic features of the house. I keep one section of basement shelves just for to-reads- and the rest are for my favorite books and games. The built in next to the fireplace is my place for my treasured things- family heirloom teapot, photos, and the books that have meant the most to me or have pretty spines :)

BOOK ME!! I have one large bookcase where I keep all my books. My favorites remain on an easy-to-reach shelf. I don’t have many coffee table books. This collection will be a great way to start displaying gorgeous books in places other than on a bookshelf!

    BOOK ME!

It all depends on the type of book. Wendy has a great cooking/recipe collection in our white kitcken hutch. I have a huge collection of baseball books that are kept in our office. We have some great historic Alexandria and Washington DC books that are on our coffee table. But my favorite, the collection of nerdy Star Wars photo books have been relegated to the basement. I assure you, if we win, these will be in a much better location than the basement. :-)

All of the favorites are kept on a book shelf in the living room where I have quick access. In reality, I have books in almost every room! I may have a slight problem. The introduction of the ereader has greatly helped (or maybe it just hides the problem).

Being a librarian, I have a huge love of books, but also a huge passion for the mission of libraries, so I get most of my books there and don’t own as many as you would think. However, my small collection does fill a bookshelf in my bedroom. Cookbooks in an end table for evening browsing. Can’t wait to read your book!
