So many book-hungry people out there! This giveaway hit its 10,000 cap within 24 hours, so we’re already back with a winner. The lucky worm is… Melissa (who keeps her favorite books in a bedside cabinet, a living room end table, and on a special display shelf in the family room. Our book release is officially here! Woo hoo! And we’re celebrating by giving away books this week. But not just our book. Lots o’ books. In fact, some of them will even come signed by some pretty awesome people. Woot! We’ve been gobbling up so many design, decor, and home books lately that we thought it’d be fun to share some of our recent faves from our library. I am obsessed with books. As a former English teacher and (hopefully soon!) future English professor, I have a TON of them. I pretty much keep them everywhere… stacked on my headboard, piled on my desk, I’ve even got some on my dresser and I’ve been known to leave them on the cat tree too! I also keep an “emergency stash” of one or two in my car. You know, in case I get stuck in traffic or something.
But probably what you’ll appreciate the most is that my love affair with DIY started when I bought a Wal-Mart bookcase in college, only to have it fall apart as I built it. My next trip was to Lowes for a bunch of pine boards and an electric screwdriver, and I painstakingly designed and built my very first bookcase myself. Take THAT, ghetto WM furniture! That’s where the majority of my collection resides.
