Fab Freebie: April Tools

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

Well the lucky April fool, er, person who’s getting the $500 gift card to the home improvement store of their choosing  – all thanks to Hometalk! – is… Rebecca (who says she and her husband really need a router table to change out some non-functional kitchen cabinets). Congrats!

Nope, this isn’t a joke. Someone somewhere in the world is gonna win $500 this week, and it’s all thanks to Hometalk. It’s a free community where DIYers and pros can exchange projects and advice, which makes it a great spot to discover new ideas (everything from major remodels to easy cleaning tips pop up). The photo-centric boards make browsing for inspiration a breeze and connecting with the creator is just as easy. And since Hometalk is all about helping you tackle our next project, they want to give you the right tools – which is why they’re serving up a $500 gift card to your favorite home improvement store (be it Home Depot, Lowe’s, Sears or something else). Not a bad way to ring in April, right?

    TOOL ME!

I live in an apartment, so my use of “tools” is next to nil (hooray for helpful landlords!), but my parents are constantly tackling projects in their ENORMOUS backyard. I’d love to be able to kick in a few (or $500!) bucks to help.

We are short on tools, but in particular we would like to have an edger to make the outside look nice. And a table saw would be great to have as well.

TOOL ME! Our tool chest has the basics like hammers and screwdrivers. It would be great to venture into the power tool world. I’m thinking a great drill and circular saw for starters.

    TOOL ME!!!

We’re currently refinishing the original hardwood floors in our 63 year old house! And soon after that, painting the walls and making our own molding around the floors and doors! We can definitely use some stain, paint, and wood!

Nail gun all the way. Board and Batten for the dining room will go up so much easier! Then if there is extra, indoor paint sprayer, landscaping materials…oh $500 could go a long way!

    “TOOL ME”

I would say I’d like either a jigsaw for a Ana White bookcase I want to build for my daughters room. Or a stud finder, lets be honest it would make life a lot easier in a lot of ways.

As for the 500$, it will go a long way with helping me tile my kitchen back splash and fireplace.

TOOL ME! Puh-leeze! I would so give this to my too-handy-for-his-own-good husband! I am always coming up with ideas for projects for him and he has quite a few tools in his arsenal, but we refer to HD and Lowe’s as his “mistresses” and he can always use more tools! He loves them both and often cheats on one with the other, as he shops for supplies my latest idea! Thanks for this chance!
