Fab Freebie: Ankasa For Your Casa

You guys may know of Ankasa’s collection of couture home furnishings which includes hand-embroidered pillows going for more than $300 a pop. But you may not know that one of our favorite online retailers, Ballard Designs, has debuted an exclusive line of Ankasa pillows for less than a third of the price. And thanks to the lovely folks at Ballard, one lucky reader is going to win one of these couture pillows on the house!

ballarddesignsankasacoutourecollage

Each of these three high-end pillows is hand cut and features rich, hand embroidered details that are sure to dress up any seat in your house. You’ve got two 18″ square and a 12″ x 20″ floral throw pillow to choose from. Although with such hard work put into their intricate designs I feel like we should call them “carefully place” pillows, not “throw pillows.”

To enter, just comment on this post with the words “HAND ‘EM OVER” by Wednesday, March 18th at 8pm EST. And while you’re at it, we’d also love to know the most intricate, delicate or complicated thing you’ve ever made with your own two hands. A masterful painting? A mutli-course meal? An extra tall Jenga tower? Oh and in case you don’t know the giveaway drill by now: please limit one entry per e-mail address (our winners are blindly selected using random.org). This prize is available to US residents only. Good luck…

    HAND ‘EM OVER!!!!!!

I think the hardest thing I ever made that was intricate was a quilt with my aunt when I was 12. I had just taken home ec at school and my parents got me a sewing machine and since my aunt is a wonderful quilter she taught me how. If only I could remember now how we did it to make another!

My latest intricate works would have to be some spiffy hair bows that I’ve made for my daughter.:)

The most intricate thing I have ever made was a 3d swan made out of white and dark chocolate, which I used as part of my presentation for my annual dessert Christmas Party. It was very time consuming, but worth the ohhhs and ahhhs!

Hmm the most intricate thing I’ve ever made? That’s sorta tough, I’m crafty and a photographer, but I’m not sure about intricate. Although I’d say developing 4×5 film by hand is pretty intricate!

Those are gorgeous. I am drooling over them! HAND ‘EM OVER! The most intricate (but hopefully NOT delicate) thing I’ve made with my own two hands was a large backyard playset for my kids…slide, swings, climbing wall, cabin, deck. Way cool….if only I could be 6 again.

I think the most intricate thing I ever “made” was a scrap-book for my cousin’s daughter. It was a compilation of the first 2 years of her life and included quotes, verses, dozens of different kinds of scrapbook paper, stickers, and about 200 photos.

most delicate, detailed handmade project was our wedding invitations. We were married in Italy and therefore I made paper airline destination tickets(x3/ invite) enclosed in a airline ticket sleeve. I had perforation and everything…. ufff… it was fun and rewarding but HARD WORK!

Most intricate thing I’ve ever made? Hrm…probably the fingerling weight cardigan for a newborn that had hand embroidered cherry blossoms on the cuffs, collar, and bottom edge. It took me forever to finish it and the little girl grew out of it in a matter of one month! My client did me a solid, though, and had it framed for the nursery. :)
