Fab Freebie: Ankasa For Your Casa

You guys may know of Ankasa’s collection of couture home furnishings which includes hand-embroidered pillows going for more than $300 a pop. But you may not know that one of our favorite online retailers, Ballard Designs, has debuted an exclusive line of Ankasa pillows for less than a third of the price. And thanks to the lovely folks at Ballard, one lucky reader is going to win one of these couture pillows on the house!

ballarddesignsankasacoutourecollage

Each of these three high-end pillows is hand cut and features rich, hand embroidered details that are sure to dress up any seat in your house. You’ve got two 18″ square and a 12″ x 20″ floral throw pillow to choose from. Although with such hard work put into their intricate designs I feel like we should call them “carefully place” pillows, not “throw pillows.”

To enter, just comment on this post with the words “HAND ‘EM OVER” by Wednesday, March 18th at 8pm EST. And while you’re at it, we’d also love to know the most intricate, delicate or complicated thing you’ve ever made with your own two hands. A masterful painting? A mutli-course meal? An extra tall Jenga tower? Oh and in case you don’t know the giveaway drill by now: please limit one entry per e-mail address (our winners are blindly selected using random.org). This prize is available to US residents only. Good luck…

I’ve been pretty crafty all my life and I couldn’t pick out just one thing…I’ve made scarves, canvas paintings, jewelry, sewn zipper pouches…all kinds of cool things!

    HAND ‘EM OVER !!!!

The most intricate thing I ever made was pinwheel programs for my wedding. I actually wrote them up, printed the cardstock, cut the cardstock, folded the cardstock, and pinned them into wooden dowels. It was quite an undertaking, but I think they turned out great and were FAR more suited to a beachside wedding than the traditional fan programs.

I would say ‘my son feel better’. With everything a mother does when her child is ill, give medicine, rock, take temp., watch sleep, clean up vomit, etc. That is the the best thing I have “made” better with my hands.

I am not very crafty, and I don’t cook!

In college I sat for 8 hours straight and painted a Dot Painting. Which is exactly what is sounds like, one canvas covered completely in tiny tots to create shapes and patterns. I love the painting and it is still hanging in my house today!

The most delicate things I’ve ever made I’ve never finished! I’ve been nearly done with a quilt I made with fabric I purchased in Africa for almost three years! That’s probably still the most precise and intricate project I’ve ever worked on, and the one I’ve put the most hours into. I’m also almost done with a needlepoint pillow.

“HAND ‘EM OVER” Those are beautiful and would go great in our Master Bedroom! Since I am terrible at sewing or anything of the sorts, I would have to say that the most complicated thing I’ve ever made was dinner for my parents & In-laws. We had a 3 course meal and it turned out amazing!! I was shocked myself! :-)

I made a dress for my little girl. I didn’t even want her to wear it when it was done because it was so much work I wanted to bronze it or something. I now buy her dresses at target and save myself the work.
