Fab Freebie: A Splash Of Color

*** This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

After quite a color-filled few days here on YHL, random.org has selected our winner as… Daffodil (whose kitchen gets almost zero natural light, so she painted it a cheerful bright yellow). Congrats! And I think we have an idea of what color sink you might be choosing…

Jonathan Adler has been a big inspiration to us lately, especially as we learn to embrace more color in this house than our first one. And as excited as we were by his new color-filled collaboration with Kohler, we were even MORE excited when Kohler agreed to give one of you a new kitchen sink and faucet to the tune of nearly $3,000 in value. So what’ll it be? Do you want the poppy yellow apron sink for your kitchen? A cool aqua double-sink for your basement wet bar? Or maybe a deep single sink in navy? The choice is all yours.

Kohler Jonathan Adler YHL Giveaway

And since a sink isn’t much good without a faucet, Kohler’s gonna let you choose from three of their favorite styles in any available finish: the Purist, the Cruette, or the Simplice. Whatever choice you make, something tells me that doing dishes is going to be a lot cheerier around someone’s house very soon…

Kohler Jonathan Adler YHL Giveaway Faucets

  • PRIZE: A new kitchen sink from the Kohler Colors Featuring Jonathan Adler collection, plus a new faucet. A potential prize value of nearly $3,000!
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “ADLER ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … how are you currently bringing color into your kitchen? Did you pick a bold paint color for the walls? Do you like a vase of fresh flowers on the counter? Or do you often find that the most colorful thing in your kitchen is your latest culinary creation?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 25th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Kohler.

Our kitchen wall color is a gold color so that adds a lot of color but also gives a pretty good slate for accent colors.

    “ADLER ME!”
Our home is really just a big work in progress so we don’t really have much color going on in the kitchen. But I do like to put small plants on the window sill because it looks so pretty in the sun especially if its flowering. Also I love making Mexican food which is so colorful and helps my kitchen feel like home.

While I’m still deciding what color to paint my kitchen, colorful dishtowels and flowers from my yard bring a welcome pop of color into our drab cooking space.

Bright accessories abound in our kitch!
Since our countertops, backsplash, & cabs are many shades of gray (as in the color – not the book, people. our kitch is quite prim and proper!) the backdrop is a whole lotta neutral. so to allay the grey (ha ha ha) we have mixed bright reds, blues, yellows, and purples into the dishes on display, some of the pictures on the wall, and even in the rug in front of the sink.

ADLER ME!!! Wow, what a wonderful giveaway.

Our kitchen is pretty neutral, so I add color with accessories, everything from towels to tea canisters and soap. Of course, a little DIY art brings lots of cheer to a neutral space as well, especially in a small place like ours.

Thanks, YHL and Kohler for even a gleam of hope of winning such an unbelievable gift.

The color in our kitchen comes from utensils and plates right now: red and yellow. We are getting ready to start some minor renovations in there including painting the cabinets white and gray. A bright pop of color from a yellow sink might be just the thing!

I’m in the process of painting our kitchen cabinets dover white by SW and then I’ll get a dark charcoal/black counter top. Yes, I’ll need some color and one of these sinks would be great!

    ADLER ME!

I adore Jonathan Adler! He is one of my all-time favorite designers.

As for colorful kitchens, ou house is full of color. We used to use mostly warm colors throughout, but have lately shifted to charcoal grays, with pops of vivid hues. But, no matter what our current decorating whims are, we always have an orange kitchen. It’s been a tradition for about 20 years now, and even when it’s not all orange, orange has to be present in a big way. Not sure why this is, but once we used orange, I could never imagine another color for our kitchens — and we have had three of them since this tradition began.

Since we’re currently renting from a no fun property management company (boo!), we’re a bit limited in what we can do and change in our place, but that doesn’t stop us from enjoying our space! Flowers, bright canisters, and punchy platters help to liven up our teensy weensy kitchen :)
