Fab Freebie: A Splash Of Color

*** This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

After quite a color-filled few days here on YHL, random.org has selected our winner as… Daffodil (whose kitchen gets almost zero natural light, so she painted it a cheerful bright yellow). Congrats! And I think we have an idea of what color sink you might be choosing…

Jonathan Adler has been a big inspiration to us lately, especially as we learn to embrace more color in this house than our first one. And as excited as we were by his new color-filled collaboration with Kohler, we were even MORE excited when Kohler agreed to give one of you a new kitchen sink and faucet to the tune of nearly $3,000 in value. So what’ll it be? Do you want the poppy yellow apron sink for your kitchen? A cool aqua double-sink for your basement wet bar? Or maybe a deep single sink in navy? The choice is all yours.

Kohler Jonathan Adler YHL Giveaway

And since a sink isn’t much good without a faucet, Kohler’s gonna let you choose from three of their favorite styles in any available finish: the Purist, the Cruette, or the Simplice. Whatever choice you make, something tells me that doing dishes is going to be a lot cheerier around someone’s house very soon…

Kohler Jonathan Adler YHL Giveaway Faucets

  • PRIZE: A new kitchen sink from the Kohler Colors Featuring Jonathan Adler collection, plus a new faucet. A potential prize value of nearly $3,000!
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “ADLER ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … how are you currently bringing color into your kitchen? Did you pick a bold paint color for the walls? Do you like a vase of fresh flowers on the counter? Or do you often find that the most colorful thing in your kitchen is your latest culinary creation?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 25th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Kohler.

We just started working on the laundry room. We’ll make yellow stripe on the walls and one of these sinks would be great to finish up the room!

    ALDER ME!

Lately I’ve been increasing my collection of different fun colored dishes. I live in an aparment that does not welcome design changes by the tenant, so I like buying dishes in different colors and designs so that I can switch them out whenever I want a change of scenery.

    ALDER ME!

When we moved into our house a little over a year ago we inherited a “barn themed” kitchen complete with barn door style cabinets and hardware, apple and hay bale wallpaper, and even a farm scene chair rail height border.

As much as we hated to say good bye to our friends the cows, this winter we scraped off all the wallpaper and painted the kitchen walls a sunny yellow and the cabinets a sage green. Inspired by our new color palette I even made some awesome citrus patterned curtains (actually I think the fabric was one you used in Clara’s weekly photos)and we’ve been slowly adding more and more color!

Next on the agenda is painting our inherited dark trim a crisp white to finish the transformation!

Bold color comes in through photography of our children when little playing kitchen and serving food that we have on our kitchen walls. Add some DIY curtains make from bright dish towels and fresh and healthy bowls of fruit and veggie. Tired old kitchen in need of colorful sink and face lift!

ADLER ME! Well, the sink was really going to be the LAST place I would ever put color, but hey, if someone gives it to me…I have decided on going for a laboratory feel for my kitchen-it suits me, forces me to keep it simple and aims toward quality. I use small items to add color and interest. A colorful sink would be so fun with the way I envision the kitchen in the future!
