Fab Freebie: A Splash Of Color

*** This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

After quite a color-filled few days here on YHL, random.org has selected our winner as… Daffodil (whose kitchen gets almost zero natural light, so she painted it a cheerful bright yellow). Congrats! And I think we have an idea of what color sink you might be choosing…

Jonathan Adler has been a big inspiration to us lately, especially as we learn to embrace more color in this house than our first one. And as excited as we were by his new color-filled collaboration with Kohler, we were even MORE excited when Kohler agreed to give one of you a new kitchen sink and faucet to the tune of nearly $3,000 in value. So what’ll it be? Do you want the poppy yellow apron sink for your kitchen? A cool aqua double-sink for your basement wet bar? Or maybe a deep single sink in navy? The choice is all yours.

Kohler Jonathan Adler YHL Giveaway

And since a sink isn’t much good without a faucet, Kohler’s gonna let you choose from three of their favorite styles in any available finish: the Purist, the Cruette, or the Simplice. Whatever choice you make, something tells me that doing dishes is going to be a lot cheerier around someone’s house very soon…

Kohler Jonathan Adler YHL Giveaway Faucets

  • PRIZE: A new kitchen sink from the Kohler Colors Featuring Jonathan Adler collection, plus a new faucet. A potential prize value of nearly $3,000!
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “ADLER ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … how are you currently bringing color into your kitchen? Did you pick a bold paint color for the walls? Do you like a vase of fresh flowers on the counter? Or do you often find that the most colorful thing in your kitchen is your latest culinary creation?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 25th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Kohler.

Our kitchen walls are actually the same yellow as your front door. We painted the walls 2 years ago when we moved in to brighten up the oak cabinets until the day we get brave enough to paint the cabinets.

ADLER ME…. our kitchen is pretty much all white. White counters, walls, appliances (it took a ton of swatches to color match everything, btw)… except one side has a butcher block counter-top. I use tea towels for color “pop” for different seasons but that yellow sink MUST become mine. :)

Great giveaway, guys! Thanks for offering it to your readers!

ALDER ME! Our kitchen and great room are painted a bold navy blue with white accents. That Picadilly Yellow sink would look amazing! Or perhaps the more coordinating Annapolis Navy would be a nice pop next to white cabinets.

Well, we painted below the chair rail in our kitchen bright red. And I was excited for the brightness but turns out I am less and less in love with the red. I am thinking of changing it to leaf green soon! Perhaps a matching sink would be a nice complement. . .

ADLER ME! When we first bought our house two years ago we painted the dark, dated cabinets white and the walls a beautiful turquoise color, similar to the Palermo Blue in this post. I have pops of cherry red here and there in bowls, towels, and votive holders.

Adler me! Our kitchen is in the middle of a reno and we only have the backsplash, sink and faucet left to replace. We’ve kept the walls and cabinets simple in greys and white so that we can change up the accent colours whenever we feel like it. Right now I have all types of yellow flowers in a vase and bowls of yellow fruits and vegetables.

    ADLER ME!

When we moved in the kitchen was already extremely neutral with plain cream ceramic tile floors, dark brown and black granite, and maple cabinets. Pretty, but bland. We painted the attached dining room wall deep teal (BM’s Deep Ocean) and I love, love, love it! We also bring in color with things like a blue teapot and canvas picture of the kids on the light grey wall. My next project is replacing the stainless pendant light covers with aqua glass insulators for another splash of color in the actual kitchen.

Currently I bring color into our kitchen with accessories like bowls or colored small appliances since we rent now but we are looking for a home to buy so soon we’ll be able to do more with it and be able to paint the walls other than white! I would love to paint a nice calm yellow or green, not very bold but just enough color. I love fresh flowers so yes i love them on counters or tables or anywhere lol. and as far as culinary creations, i live that to my boyfriend, since I’m not a good cook but a good a decorator i am! :)

The problem with our current kitchen is that it has too much color going on for our tastes–bright pinky-orange terracotta floor tiles, light teal formica countertops, light (band-aid colored) faux wood cabinets… all way too much for our otherwise formal-ish old victorian house. I would like to dial all that back a few notches (kitchen reno plans are in the works), so that we can actually accent with pops of color rather than drowning in it!
