Fab Freebie: A Splash Of Color

*** This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

After quite a color-filled few days here on YHL, random.org has selected our winner as… Daffodil (whose kitchen gets almost zero natural light, so she painted it a cheerful bright yellow). Congrats! And I think we have an idea of what color sink you might be choosing…

Jonathan Adler has been a big inspiration to us lately, especially as we learn to embrace more color in this house than our first one. And as excited as we were by his new color-filled collaboration with Kohler, we were even MORE excited when Kohler agreed to give one of you a new kitchen sink and faucet to the tune of nearly $3,000 in value. So what’ll it be? Do you want the poppy yellow apron sink for your kitchen? A cool aqua double-sink for your basement wet bar? Or maybe a deep single sink in navy? The choice is all yours.

Kohler Jonathan Adler YHL Giveaway

And since a sink isn’t much good without a faucet, Kohler’s gonna let you choose from three of their favorite styles in any available finish: the Purist, the Cruette, or the Simplice. Whatever choice you make, something tells me that doing dishes is going to be a lot cheerier around someone’s house very soon…

Kohler Jonathan Adler YHL Giveaway Faucets

  • PRIZE: A new kitchen sink from the Kohler Colors Featuring Jonathan Adler collection, plus a new faucet. A potential prize value of nearly $3,000!
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “ADLER ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … how are you currently bringing color into your kitchen? Did you pick a bold paint color for the walls? Do you like a vase of fresh flowers on the counter? Or do you often find that the most colorful thing in your kitchen is your latest culinary creation?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 25th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Kohler.

Don’t really have any color in there or at least tomorrow there won’t be, but the granite. We are painting the kitchen a neutral light tan. Bye Bye bright yellow walls. Now I can actually start bringing in other colors and not have to worry about it working with the yellow.

    Alder Me!!!

When we bought our house 4 years ago one of the first things I did was decorate the kitchen. I went with pink…why not? The big punch of color was from fun fabric I bought in pink and green with a floral print for two ikea chairs. I made slip covers for the chairs and we still use them to this day!

Our kitchen is in serious need of a remodel, but the biggest pop of color currently comes from the original laminate countertops that are aqua. Oddly enough, they’re the one thing I’ll really miss when we redo the kitchen, but a fun aqua sink would sure be an awesome replacement!

My kitchen had white cabinets and muddled grayish laminate counters and backsplash. I kept the white cabinets, got some cheap black granite-ish laminate counters from Ikea, and stainless steel appliances. For my color fix I painted the bay window walls with Swimming by Sherwin Williams and I went with some awesomely cheap glass mosaic meshmount tiles for a backsplash with different blue tones in it (called “Marsala” at the Floor and Decor Outlet).
