Fab Freebie: A Splash Of Color

*** This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

After quite a color-filled few days here on YHL, random.org has selected our winner as… Daffodil (whose kitchen gets almost zero natural light, so she painted it a cheerful bright yellow). Congrats! And I think we have an idea of what color sink you might be choosing…

Jonathan Adler has been a big inspiration to us lately, especially as we learn to embrace more color in this house than our first one. And as excited as we were by his new color-filled collaboration with Kohler, we were even MORE excited when Kohler agreed to give one of you a new kitchen sink and faucet to the tune of nearly $3,000 in value. So what’ll it be? Do you want the poppy yellow apron sink for your kitchen? A cool aqua double-sink for your basement wet bar? Or maybe a deep single sink in navy? The choice is all yours.

Kohler Jonathan Adler YHL Giveaway

And since a sink isn’t much good without a faucet, Kohler’s gonna let you choose from three of their favorite styles in any available finish: the Purist, the Cruette, or the Simplice. Whatever choice you make, something tells me that doing dishes is going to be a lot cheerier around someone’s house very soon…

Kohler Jonathan Adler YHL Giveaway Faucets

  • PRIZE: A new kitchen sink from the Kohler Colors Featuring Jonathan Adler collection, plus a new faucet. A potential prize value of nearly $3,000!
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “ADLER ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … how are you currently bringing color into your kitchen? Did you pick a bold paint color for the walls? Do you like a vase of fresh flowers on the counter? Or do you often find that the most colorful thing in your kitchen is your latest culinary creation?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 25th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Kohler.

Right now, we are adding color in our small galley kitchen with accessories – the towels, art on the fridge, and some flowers on the counter. We have big plans to bring the kitchen up to date with a new (maybe recycled glass) counter top and new appliances! That aqua sink would be a fun addition as well!

We just moved into our house (literally…) so the pop of color comes from the awesome bright red on the walls (though it’s a tad bit overwhelming considering the 12 foot ceilings and we’ll likely change the color here soon). A new apron sink is what we totally want in there and to have it be an awesome color would be ideal!

We have pretty neutral tones in our counters, browns & grays with black speckles and our cabinets are beige (as is our fridge, dishwasher, and stove/oven. We pulled in color by adding various bottles/jars/vases in glass colored blue, green, yellow, and red. We found all of the pieces at yard sales, and we love the color!

Since I’m renting, I can’t paint my kitchen the nice, bright yellow that I’d like to. So instead, I add color by filling the space above my upper cabinets and below the ceiling with green, blue, and yellow bottles, vases, and pitchers. Hopefully by the winter my hubby and I will own a kitchen for our very own that we can paint as we like!

I painted my kitchen walls a complex brown color, Behr’s Gentle Doe, in order to tone the awful peach color 90’s laminate cabinets in my new house. Some day I will be painting the cabinets white and ungrading the countertops!
