After quite a color-filled few days here on YHL, random.org has selected our winner as… Daffodil (whose kitchen gets almost zero natural light, so she painted it a cheerful bright yellow). Congrats! And I think we have an idea of what color sink you might be choosing…
Jonathan Adler has been a big inspiration to us lately, especially as we learn to embrace more color in this house than our first one. And as excited as we were by his new color-filled collaboration with Kohler, we were even MORE excited when Kohler agreed to give one of you a new kitchen sink and faucet to the tune of nearly $3,000 in value. So what’ll it be? Do you want the poppy yellow apron sink for your kitchen? A cool aqua double-sink for your basement wet bar? Or maybe a deep single sink in navy? The choice is all yours.
And since a sink isn’t much good without a faucet, Kohler’s gonna let you choose from three of their favorite styles in any available finish: the Purist, the Cruette, or the Simplice. Whatever choice you make, something tells me that doing dishes is going to be a lot cheerier around someone’s house very soon…

We have bright rag rugs from World Market on the floors and pretty screen printed tea towels from various Etsy sellers on the oven handle. I also have a set of colorful nesting doll measuring cups that I keep splenda and stevia packets in near the coffee pot. We also display our fruit in a big bowl so the colors are ever changing!

I’m still working on my kitchen and with the freshly painted white cabinets with brushed nickel hardware, my gray speckled formica counters and soon to be light gray walls and white beadboard, it’s pretty sterile in there, but not to worry. I hope to bring in some color with homemade curtains (I’m loving the fabric you used for your headboard), some of that recipe art in fun colors, towels and my sun yellow spray painted little rooster, as well as the possibility of painting the door yellow too (still thinking about it). Hopefully I can find some pretty accessories as well to put on my open shelves too.

ADLER ME!! We have NO color in our kitchen at the moment. It is essentially a gut job. In the interest of saving money, we will likely just refinish/paint our cabinets (but need to do some repairs first) and figure out an economical counter option that is attractive. Oh yeah, and knock down half a wall into the dining room. :) When that day comes, the color will be through paint and accessories.

So we JUST bought our first home, this last Thursday! Following your foot steps, we bought a house that needs MUCH love in one of the best neighborhoods around.
