Fab Freebie: Roll On Some Royalty
*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below!***
Sorry for the late notice (travel is messing up my winner picking mojo!), but the random winner of this stencil prize is… Jen (who once “made a chevron painting with instructions I found on Pinterest and it turned out great”). Congrats Jen!
The love of stencils that first blossomed when we did our office walls only grew stronger when we tackled a couple of stenciling projects for our book (on pages 26 & 282). So in the spirit of sharing the love, this week’s prize comes from the maker of the very stencils that we used in all three cases – Royal Design Studio. We’re longtime fans of their modern shapes and patterns, and they’re starting you off with a $100 stencil gift card and throwing in a $100 “Stencil Success Kit” that includes the essentials for executing your stencil project. You’ll get a roller set, 7 brushes, and your choice of five stencil crémes. And to top it all off, how about a $50 paint allowance to the paint store of your choice? That totals a $250 kick in the pants to get your stencil on.
- PRIZE: $100 stencil gift card to Royal Design Studio, plus a “Stencil Success Kit” and a $50 paint allowance to the paint store of your choice
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “STENCIL ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … one DIY project that you’ve tackled once and are dying to try again. Is it a paint project? Something building related? Are you itching to take another whack at a crafting or sewing project?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Nov 14th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US (more on that here). This giveaway is open to The United States.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Royal Design Studio.

STENCIL ME!
I recently redid our hall bath & I FELL IN LOVE with the way our very vintage hamper turned out…went from dingy yellow, to navy, to its beautiful new turquoise! Since I can’t take it with me to my new home (it’s actually mom’s), I picked up another vintage hamper last weekend & can’t wait to turn it from lime green to another statement color!
Stencil ME! I framed some really pretty wallpaper as art and I still love it! I would like to do that again
STENCIL ME!
I too have been dying to stencil a wall since I saw your office!! LOVE it.
STENCIL ME!
I used a wall stencil at my condo and loved it. I have yet to try it at our house, but have had my eye on a few I would love to try.
Stencil Me :)
STENCIL ME!
I stenciled my kitchen wall with a homemade handcut design. I was just about to pull the trigger on another wall (I think enough time has passed allowing me to forget how long this process was the first time) in my family room so this give-away is perfect timing!
STENCIL ME! We just stripped our 100 year old door back to the original heart pine wood. It looks awesome. We are talking about doing the pocket doors next. It is a killer project but I can’t wait! Love to get this set for a few projects I have planned! :)
Stencil me!
We faux finished all of the walls in our downstairs and it was equally time consuming and awesome. I’d love to do something fun like that in our new house.
STENCIL ME!
I made a yarn wreath for Halloween and want to make a holiday one.
STENCIL ME!!! I’m planning on using my recently purchased Royal Design Studio stencil this coming weekend and afterward I’m sure I’ll want to do it again in another room in our house (with a different stencil of course!). Does that count??
Stencil Me! :)
stencil me! I’m an awful diyer but I’ll try anything once twice might be too much =)
Stencil me!!
I’m going to tackle refinishing a dresser and nightstands! The same ones that I just painted as a teenager with out properly prepping! :(
Stencil Me!! I am looking to DIY something out of some old wood pallets…waiting for some inspiration (and time)!!! :)
Stencil me!! I have a hard time doing any DIY project too similar to an old one. I do woodwork with an old fence that blew over in our tornado this spring, but I can never make the same thing twice even if it’s for someone else. I just get too bored lol. ;) But I guess it’s partially a good problem because then I try new things!
STENCIL ME!
Anything landscape related. The yard needs some love and I need more Vitamin D!
Stencil me! I’m dying to paint more furniture!
STENCIL ME!
I’m dying to hack my Ikea dresser with some wood trim
STENCIL ME!
I’m dying to retry our bathroom walls. We were in a hurry when we moved in, but the bathroom was disgusting, so we threw up some wall board. Well, As time has gone on, we’ve don’t other projects around the house and now the wall board just looks cheap and thrown up on the wall, which it was. Sigh. Some day soon.
STENCIL ME!
I need to take another crack at Modge Podging. I just covered a letter ‘R’ with tissue paper and it is a wrinkled mess! I think my technique is a bit off!
Stencil me!
Would love to paint my daughters’ desks again. I did it once, but with less than stellar results. Hope to try it again this winter.
STENCIL ME!
I am dying to sew my daughter another skirt! She just grew out of the last one I made. I love seeing her in things that I made myself!
STENCIL ME!!!!
A DIY Project, that I haven’t yet tried, but am going to, is painting furniture.
Stencil me! Because I would love to use stencils to help decorate our bedroom, and other empty walls of our home. I enjoy looking at those who used stencils for their creativity, through wall design, ceiling design, concrete stencils, or furniture re-dos… amazing to say the least, and it has inspired me to take my blank slate (also known as my home of empty walls) and begin to create the home I have always dreamed of.
Stencil me! Using oil based paint on furniture, it leaves it amazing and we need a dresser for our bedroom soon:)
STENCIL ME! I have some new power tools and have used them a little bit but am ready to take on a bigger project!
“STENCIL ME!”
I love the stripes I recently painted in our guest bathroom. They are similar to your first house’s powder room. I think a stencil might be a fun new project that will destract me from painting more stripes!!
Stencil Me!!!!!
STENCIL ME!
I painted our china cabinet a while ago and it looks sooo much better than before I want to keep painting furniture! Just haven’t figured out what to paint next!
Stencil me! I am dying to repurpose some furniture…perhaps with a stencil!
Stencil me!
My DIY is pretty much limited to sewing projects but my husband has refinished some furniture. I’d love to do more of that!
STENCIL ME!
I’m dying to paint our concrete front porch and try a stencil on it, similar to your old sun room!
STENCIL ME!!
I would love to try gold or silver leafing again. So fun!
STENCIL ME! I really enjoyed staining the dresser in our bedroom. I want to do it again!
Stencil me!
I am looking forward to creating some artwork for the house.
STENCIL ME!
I’ve been eyeballing this bad boy for a while http://www.etsy.com/shop/patternedpaintroller
STENCIL ME!
I am looking forward to making some more DIY artwork for our home. :)
Stencil Me! I have a nice white blank space at the top of my daughter’s bedroom that would be perfect for that birdie border stencil!
Stencil Me!
I recently sewed curtains for the master bedroom and can’t wait to sew them for the other rooms in the Little House. It needs them badly!
Stencil Me! I sanded, stained, and sealed our kitchen table – it was a $15 thrift store find – and although required a ton of labor, I would love to stain a piece of furniture again. There is nothing as rewarding as receiving compliments on furniture — little do people know, it was my handiwork :).
STENCIL ME!
STENCIL ME!
Refinishing an Ikea chair. I did one, but I have two… ergo, I NEED TO take another crack at it. :)
STENCIL ME!
STENCIL ME! I’ve painted 1 piece of furniture before, and would love to try it again!
STENCIL ME!!
I’m itching to give some updated love to a vintage armoire, gotta love recycling!
STENCIL ME!! I stained and hung pantry shelves with a friend and organized her foodstuffs into baskets and canisters. It was so satisfying! There’s nothing like good organization.
STENCIL ME!!
I’m dying to paint more furniture and give it that distressed look. I did this on a shelf for my living room but I want to do a nightstand next. I’m eager for a nice, errand-free Saturday to do this.
STENCIL ME (please!)
I’m pretty good with sewing/crafting/baking, but painting is not exactly my favorite thing. My husband, on the other hand, is a painting machine! :D And he would LOVE to stencil our guest bathroom!
STENCIL ME!
I tried to make my son an outfit a while back. It would have been so cute, if I had taken my time, done a little more research, and relaxed. Now that I’ve researched a few tips, I plan to try again. I think this time, I’ll stick with just a shirt, though! :)
STENCIL ME!
I want to DIY renovate our kitchen! We have pine walls, which are lovely, but awlful old cabinets that need some stenciling!
