Some Super Classy Curb Appeal
We had the best idea for taking our home’s curb appeal to the next level. Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you, the gloriously fabulous front yard fountain of our dreams!
We know what you’re thinking. You can’t believe how swanky and high-end that fountain looks. Especially in front of our modest brick ranch. It’ll make our house look like a million bucks! In fact, we played around with Photoshop to get an idea of how great our new architectural feature will look in the front yard:
Isn’t that fantastic? Are you guys chomping at the bit to get one of your own? Oh and one more question. Do you remember what day it is? HAPPY APRIL FOOLS!

I, one year wrote up a two weeks notice letter to my boss and in the very last paragraph I stated that it was because it was April Fools day and he got a good laugh, but you should of seen his face when I said I was quitting!

OMG! For a second there, I was wondering to myself what in the world you were thinking?! I love your blog, but I thought you had completely lost your minds. I didn’t even see the ‘April Fools’ message until after I clicked over to leave a comment. I was wondering how I could tactfully suggest that you ‘re-think’ your fountain plans?? One of my favorite houses in our neighborhood has the ugliest fountain out front… I dream of one day being able to buy that house, and immediately getting rid of that eyesore!

My initial reaction: “How the heck did they make one of those?”. Nice. (and impressive photoshop skills).
I think you should run with the idea. Just imagine all the people that would walk by and toss a coin in it – you could have a whole new revenue stream – Stream – HA HA – get the pun?
I think you should add some MARBLE COLUMNS to your interior – talk about real class!

well… it would only look right in your front yard if you surrounded it with statues of greek gods and goddesses, preferably naked, and put up some marble columns on your house … then it’ll work ;)

Very clever! Although when we were house-hunting, I did come across a gorgeous house BUT the house next door had not only a fountain, but TONS of statues outside of it on the front lawn… we thought about putting an offer on the house but it sold. Later, we were thinking of what kind of neighbors we would have had, and were SO glad we didn’t get that house!
Ditto on Sherry’s comment about loving the SNL references. But we can’t forget the original: You gotta get a chandelier!

Ok…I silently read your blog every day (twice a day) and am in constant awe of your style and decorating ability. I was so turned off by that fountain that for a split second I contemplated removing you from my favorites bar. I guess I’m the fool today!
