Fab Freebie: You Clean Up Nice

Yes, this freebie is about cleaning, but the “nice” part of my post title risks being a major understatement. For instance, would you call this incredible Australian house that we virtually crashed back in February just “nice?”
Of course not. It’s amazing. Which is why we’re excited that those very homeowners are also the geniuses behind the luxurious and superbly eco-friendly cleaning line called Murchison-Hume. Even more excitingly, they’re sending over $250 worth of luxe home-cleaning products to one lucky reader’s casa (feel free to drool, since you’ll soon have something to clean it up with).
So why do we love Murchison-Hume? Let’s start with the design: vintage apothecary-style bottles that make any countertop photo-shoot ready. Then there’s the eco part. All products are premium organic and are based in the same technology that cleans up oil spills, meaning they’re completely non-toxic. Oh, and of course there’s the fact that they actually work – and smell great (mmm, Australian White Grapefruit). I’m pretty obsessive about keeping the kitchen clean, because it is the one place that matters most to my wife. But by nature I’m not an obsessively clean person. :)

I can not stand un-organized clutter. So, even though clutter isn’t ideal, it’s sometimes unavoidable…but it has to be in neat piles otherwise I go crazy.

I’m kind of sloppy. I think the only thing I keep obsessively clean is myself — I wash my hair every day and sometimes take a decadent second shower (especially if I’ve been playing with the cat and am full of his buff-colored fur).

I’m more of a neat freak than a clean freak, but a dirty kitchen seriously stresses me out. I can’t think straight until the counters are wiped down, the stove is free of splatters, the sink is empty (and clean!) and the floors are swept. My husband probably thinks I’m nuts, but who wants to eat or cook in a dirty kitchen??

We live in a smaller home, so we keep it feeling open and light by keeping piles of clutter off of all our flat surfaces. This is the last swish through the house I make at night, putting things away so I can wake up to a clean house each day.

I have obsessively washed my hands for the most part of my life. I think it has to do with always having an inside dog. I love to pet them but can not fight the urge to wash my hands immediately after.
I HATE clutter on the counter tops, and even more….crumbs!
However, I am uber relaxed about my personal laundry. I re-wear items often to save time, energy, and water to wash them.

“KEEP IT CLEAN” I frequently wash my hands and I’m also checking the baby’s (age 2)nose. They(young kids)can/will do some embarrassing and funny things in public.
