Jolly Good Times

By now you’re all probably off with your family eating gingerbread and tearing into some presents but we just wanted to share the holiday card we whipped up for our loved ones (since you’re all on our virtual mailing list). We wish you guys a very happy and sweet holiday with the ones you love. And speaking of love, we adore every last one of you for dropping in to see what we’re up to over here at Casa Petersik. Your support and encouragement never fail to put smiles on our faces each and every day, and we’re full of gratitude for the amazing year we’ve been fortunate enough to share with all of you.

So don’t forget to enjoy some eggnog for me (thanks to the bean it’s off limits this year) while you celebrate the best part of having a place to call home: sharing it with the ones you love. Here’s to many more adventures (and misadventures) in 2010!

Psst- Wanna see our favorite holiday card of all time? It’s actually the first one we made from ‘07.

Pssssst- Wanna know how we create our cards? We just take photos, mess around with them in Photoshop, print them at one of those automatic CVS or Target photo kiosks and pop them in the mail. They only cost around 30 cents per picture and they’re oh so personalized and fun!

Hi YHL! Just wanted to say how much your blog has meant to me this year (especially this fall). Our own little bean (actually baby #2) was born in August and at birth was diagnosed with a rare heart defect that kept her and us in the hospital until the end of November. As I sat in a hospital room, watching my girlie recover from two open heart surgeries, I plotted, planned and sketched out my dreams for our house (purchased just weeks before her arrival and sitting empty those 3 months we stayed at the hospital). To keep my mind off the scary stuff we were going through, I planned our home and future- especially her nursery and I read through all your blog entries for inspiration. Can’t tell you how much it meant to me to have a regularly and frequently updated blog to read when I needed a moment to escape my daily reality. This is a GREAT holiday season home and I can’t wait to dive into remodeling and decorating now that we’re all home together. Thanks for all the inspiration throughout the year! Best wishes!

Thanks so much Erin! What an amazing story. We’re so glad to hear that you’re all home together to celebrate the holidays. And we hope you have fun renovating and decorating up a storm after all that you’ve been through!

Lots of love,
Sherry & John

I love your blog, you’re so creative! Hope you’re enjoying the Christmas holidays.

I love, love, love that Christmas card. Thank you both for such an enjoyable year. Your entries are so entertaining, helpful and very creative. Happy New Year to you all.

I love your Christmas cards! They have made me realise that I really should be a bit more creative on the Christmas card front and not use store brought. Next year I will try harder, I promise!

Your creativity never ceases to amaze me! Love love love the card. Hope you had a very Merry!

Merry Christmas! Gorgeous card! It’s much better than ours, which doesn’t exist yet.

Are those new glassybabies I see on your mantle??? Can’t wait to see if there will be a post about them! Happy Holidays!

Sarah F- Good eye! They’re actually just green glass candle holders that we already had hanging around in our sunroom (check them out in this post). We just temporarily moved them onto the mantel for a bit more color when it came time to snap our Christmas card. Hope it helps!

Torey- Yeah we’re over the moon! We actually blogged about it about a week ago and still can’t even believe it. What a fantastic honor!

Hey JC,

Love you right back. This calls for an experiment. Can we stop? This should be oh so interesting…

:)

Your card is adorable – i love it!

Absolutely Love It!!! And y’all too!! Thanks so much for sharing your renovating and decorating ideas. It gives me alot more motivation than I’ve had in a few years. And I even go to Target and Marshalls with a completely different eye!! Happy New Year!!

aww i love that card. haha thanks for posting that old one of burger. too cute!

That is the cutest Christmas card I’ve ever seen!

I have been reading your blog for about the last 6 months and have throughly enjoyed it! Anyway, we have been packing away our holiday decoration and started wondering what to do with the holiday cards we’ve received. We sent out and received our first holiday cards this year and would like to do something special with them. Any ideas? Your blog was the first place I looked!

You can save them for next season and display them under a glass coffee table, on a pretty holiday bulletin board lined with red ribbon, or even punch holes in the top of them and make ornaments out of them with ribbon or twine to hang ‘em. Hope it helps!

xo,
s
