Fab Freebie: Ankasa For Your Casa
You guys may know of Ankasa’s collection of couture home furnishings which includes hand-embroidered pillows going for more than $300 a pop. But you may not know that one of our favorite online retailers, Ballard Designs, has debuted an exclusive line of Ankasa pillows for less than a third of the price. And thanks to the lovely folks at Ballard, one lucky reader is going to win one of these couture pillows on the house!

Each of these three high-end pillows is hand cut and features rich, hand embroidered details that are sure to dress up any seat in your house. You’ve got two 18″ square and a 12″ x 20″ floral throw pillow to choose from. Although with such hard work put into their intricate designs I feel like we should call them “carefully place” pillows, not “throw pillows.”

To enter, just comment on this post with the words “HAND ‘EM OVER” by Wednesday, March 18th at 8pm EST. And while you’re at it, we’d also love to know the most intricate, delicate or complicated thing you’ve ever made with your own two hands. A masterful painting? A mutli-course meal? An extra tall Jenga tower? Oh and in case you don’t know the giveaway drill by now: please limit one entry per e-mail address (our winners are blindly selected using random.org). This prize is available to US residents only. Good luck…

“HAND ‘EM OVER”! I’m not crafty at all, so the most intricate thing I’ve ever done is all my writing assignments in college for my French and Corporate Communications double majors! That was pretty intricate!
HAND ‘EM OVER! Please! I once made a wedding cake with 2 tiers and candy hearts with candy flowers on them. Oh and there was a heart with pearls on the top. The best part – it wasn’t for anyone’s wedding, it was for a cake decorating class. I had a come eat my wedding cake party for my neighbors!
Hand ‘Em Over!
I just made a few new pillows for my sofa with contrasted piping and zippers, which was complicated for such a non-sewer as I am! And guess what? These pillows would look divine with what I have!
Hand ‘Em Over!
I would say the most intricate and delicate thing I’ve ever made was a knitted afgan (baby fern pattern). The most difficult would be slipcovers for my couch, chair and ottoman.
HAND ‘EM OVER
Hand ‘Em Over!
I’ll have to be corny and say that my children are the most intricate things I’ve ever made. Yes, I’ve sewn many a Vogue Designer fashion for myself, but they were all a piece of cake compared with raising three boys and never having a nervous breakdown! :-)
Hand Em’ Over!!
I had to make a model of a restaurant at 1/4″ scale for school! It took my 2 partners and I over 40 hours to finish! Not fun!
HAND ‘EM OVER!!! The most intricate thing I’ve made is knitted scarves…
Hand ‘Em Over!
Beautiful. Thanks for posting.
Hand ‘em OVER
A clock for my mom…
………..Hand ‘em Over……………
Then, many detailed blue prints in college studying Architecture, now, balance our family of 6, cook, clean, do laundry (all the time), coach, teach, and still make my hubby purrrrr!
Hand Em’ Over!
HAND EM’ OVER!!! Lets see there have been a few that I can think of from painting, to handcrafted bracelet, to re-covering a coffe table to make it into a bench that now seats four at my mom’s kitchen table! Although I did have help with that project! She my mom has taught me everything I know when it comes to DIY’s. Anyhow LOVE The pillows and would love to have one in my living room!
These pillows are so beautiful, HAND ‘EM OVER!
The most intricate thing I have ever made is a nailhead trimmed headboard. It’s hard to keep them in a perfectly straight line.
Hand ‘em over!! Currently I am weaving baskets to place in the hotel rooms of all my out of town guests for my wedding! It is quite the process but will be totally worth it in the end!
Hand em Over! These are great. I am not crafty so I really have never made anything nice. MY stuff comes out demented.
HAND ‘EM OVER
I would have to say wedding invitations!
HAND’EM OVER! The most difficult thing I’ve ever made with my own too hands is the scarf I knitted for my husband last Christmas. Being a lefty (and first-time knitter) I had to learn to do everything the opposite way. And ouch, the way those needles poke your fingers! But, the end result was worth it. :)
hand them over! i’m pretty good at mashing the button on a video game controller. especially, for games that require intense repetitive motions.
HAND ‘EM OVER!
A onsie for my son & daughter in which I pseudo cross-stiched/sewed their names.
Hand em over!
I used to do needle work in my younger (like under 10 years old), so my work was obviously not up to this standard.
Sadly…. they were still the most delicate things I have done with my two hands. I’ve become quite heavy handed the older I get!
Hand ‘em over:)
Hmmmm, probably chile relleno’s. They are difficult to make and I can’t believe I was able to do 40 the first time I made them.
Hand ‘em over! Those pillows are beautiful! The most crafty thing I have ever made…my wedding programs!
HAND ‘EM OVER
I am not handy but crafty so I like to make cards and have done some ornaments.
Please, oh please hand ‘em over! I try my hand at many a craft (generally unsuccessfully), but these might be just the push I need to invent a little home couture of my own. Love ‘em!
HAND EM OVER.
I mean it.
Just do it and nobody will get hurt.
The most difficult thing was a Christmas Stocking with no pattern and no sewing skills.
The most complicated thing I have made was sushi for a party. Making sushi for just a few people is easy, making sushi for a party is tiring….
Love the pillows and I need them for my bedroom. THANKS!
HAND ‘EM OVER! I’m in the middle of making a crazy quilt… my version of Slow Cloth.
Hand Em Over!! Please. Pretty please? :) I love the colors and design of the room you posted. Sigh. Gorgeous.
Hmmm…I don’t really sew, but I needle-felt wool play food for my kiddos. I’ve made some gorgeous little felted wool cupcakes for them, using (thrifted, felted) sweater sleeves as the cupcake wrapper, and then needle-felted wool roving “swirled” to look like icing. The roving itself was awesome…it had little flecks of other colors in it, and looked like pink funfetti frosting :P

HAND ‘EM Over. What gorgeous pillows!
HAND EM OVER–love these
Most intricate thing I have made with my hands–I will have to say my cynotype photographs!
HAND ‘EM OVER! The most intricate would probably be the little nightgown I made for my daughter’s American Girl doll…without a pattern!
“HAND ‘EM OVER”
paintings, lots of ‘em!
HAND ‘EM OVER
I think the most complicated thing I have ever made was a was an 1890s evening dress bodice based on an illustration from an old Harper’s Bazaar. Halfway through draping the pattern, my instructor told me I should think about starting over with a simpler design. :)

HAND EM OVER!!!!

HAND ‘EM OVER……really just hand ‘em over!:) They are sooooo lovely.
The most intricate thing I have made is an idol from clay.
Its not so intricate or great looking but its a lot of effort for someone who got kicked out of art class:).
By the way….I love your blog and congrats on ur CNN appearance.
