Our Home In R. Home
Ok, so we’ve extended our 15 minutes of local fame a smidge thanks to the latest issue of R. Home magazine, the much loved home & garden offspring of our hometown’s über popular Richmond Magazine.
We’ve been anxiously awaiting this July/August issue since way back in April when they first contacted us for an interview and a professional photoshoot (I know, we’re fancy), and it’s finally here. And I must say we’re thrilled (especially Sherry, who has worried for two months that her pose on the second page might make her appear one-legged).
The article chronicles the short story of us and the birth of Young House Love, while sporting some swanky, professional pics of a few of our favorite before and afters (the sunroom, the den, the master bedroom and, of course, the kitchen).

I especially love what you’ve done with the master bedroom, the “built-in” look of the bed is fabulous. I always wonder though, where do you keep your alarm clock?
Thanks everyone! Sorry for the delayed response, but promptly after posting the news a big rain storm swept through here and took our electricity with it. We seemed to be cursed when it comes to power-outages so it wasn’t until 5am that it finally came back on.
ACG, how awesome that you get Richmond Magazine all the way out there in Texas. You should convince your grandmother to send you some Ukrops cupcakes too.
Lisa, good question on the alarm clock. We’re both children of the modern age and use our cell phones as our alarms. They’re small enough to fit on the lip of our platform bed frame (and they never fail us during power outages). But other nightstand-y things like books get tucked inside the shelves of our wardrobes. Now you know you know our secret.

Congrats! I was interviewed by Jessica too and she talked to me about the Richmond home blog community and I told her about your site, though at the time, I think I called it “Our Young House”. Glad she was able to find you. Your blog has changed a lot since then.
