aha! a surprise late night post to feed my yhl addiction – woo hoo! It must be past my bedtime because I was pretty confused by your bizarre “artwork” until I realized that they were only flyers being used as placeholders while you figured out your frame arrangement. Yes, I can be a little slow sometimes…. Can’t wait to see the end result.

Can’t wait to see exactly what you guys have up your sleeves. I am wanting to do a gallery wall in my hallway of art and family photos. Did you buy the frames and then figure out the grid, or vice versa? By the way, your art above Karl really looks fab on the Moonshine wall. Big score with that project!

I follow another blogger, that tells her kids they can touch with one finger. They learn very quickly, and at a young age. We tell our Grandbabies, thats not a toy, and show them the toys. They learned very quickly, and would shake their head and say “that not a toy, is it grammy?” LOL Kids are so smart.

I used the “one finger” technique because a friend suggested it as a way to keep my son from playing with the Christmas ornaments on the tree. It has worked really well! Now that he’s almost three, he even asks “I can touch this with one finger, mommy?” :)

Love the way you are laying out the frames- can’t wait to see the finished look! We need to do this in our foyer also. Well, after I finally pick a paint color and paint it that is. I use the one finger touch with my son also- it works!

      The wall will be GORGEOUS!!!

Don’t stress baby proofing. If kids grow up around important/precious/”dangerous” (mom’s sewing scissors, for instance) they get bored of adult stuff and don’t care. My friends who’s kids live in a baby-gated cage don’t know how to deal with real life at my house. I have had kids come over who run like tornadoes grabbing everything and anything and dumping/upending/flushing/emptying/drawing on everything they can get their hands on. Because they live in baby-gated soft rooms at home. And yes, I have little kids. I have a 2, 7 and 9 year old. I have another friend who keeps a candy dish out for guests. Friends come over and are amazed her own kids don’t go nutso eating it all. She said they did a couple times and now they couldn’t care less.

    • Sierra says

      March 17, 2011 at 10:50 am

Four kids later I have never tried the “one finger” thing and I’m ALL OVER it! lol I use the “look with your eyes” and if they can’t control themselves they have to keep their hands in their pockets.

LOVE the templates newpapers! I can’t wait to see it all come together. :)

Oh Lord! I’m very much into symmetry and balance, so that would drive me crazy. LOL It’s certainly going to be fun, tho. Can’t wait to see the finished product.

My only thought is that maybe you should keep the outside frames in line with one another… to sort of frame the whole arrangement and make it less busy looking. But then again… that could be my OCD’ness coming out. LOL
