Fab Freebie: You Clean Up Nice

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Yes, this freebie is about cleaning, but the “nice” part of my post title risks being a major understatement. For instance, would you call this incredible Australian house that we virtually crashed back in February just “nice?”

MerchHume HouseCrash

Of course not. It’s amazing. Which is why we’re excited that those very homeowners are also the geniuses behind the luxurious and superbly eco-friendly cleaning line called Murchison-Hume. Even more excitingly, they’re sending over $250 worth of luxe home-cleaning products to one lucky reader’s casa (feel free to drool, since you’ll soon have something to clean it up with).

MerchHume SixHandSoap

So why do we love Murchison-Hume? Let’s start with the design: vintage apothecary-style bottles that make any countertop photo-shoot ready. Then there’s the eco part. All products are premium organic and are based in the same technology that cleans up oil spills, meaning they’re completely non-toxic. Oh, and of course there’s the fact that they actually work – and smell great (mmm, Australian White Grapefruit). And yes this line (which you can find stateside in Anthropologie and in upscale shelter mags like Elle Decor) is pricier than your average cleaner, but you certainly get what you pay for. Plus, it never hurts to feel a bit fancy when you’re tidying up. In fact they sent some our way and we’ve never felt so elegant while getting our scrub on. There was even some raised pinky action while we went.

MerchHume LaundryGarment

So here are the deets for this week’s giveaway, including all of the loot that our winner’s gonna take home…

  • PRIZE: Murchison-Hume’s “Classic Six” boxed set, full refill set, Luxury Laundry Soak, Original Garment Groom, Hand Soap and their brand new hand cream.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “KEEP IT CLEAN” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … fess up about what you obsessively clean. Are you a frequent hand washer or teeth brusher? Does clutter on your countertop drive you nuts? Do you consider clothes to be dirty even if they’ve barely been worn?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 14th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Worldwide. That’s right, it’s fair game for everyone.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

KEEP IT CLEAN! I have to admit, I’m a complete clutter phobe… we have this corner of our kitchen table that’s like a magnet, drawing in keys & mail & CDs & other random acts of life that are easier to just set down on the go. There’s not a day that passes that I don’t go by the corner of doom, pick everything up and find a home for it… only to find it’s all back the next day.

    Keep it clean!!

I relish a clean house — and just wished it lasted longer! For Easter, we entertained 20 and our home was (proudly!) pristine. I want that back! Help me make it so again.

My beef: clutter. It’s everywhere. Though slowly but surely, I’m figuring out “systems” that will work for my husband’s problem with little slips of paper — they are everywhere. We’re getting there!

I constantly clean our granite countertops. The granite tends to hide the dirt, so I feel it necessary to be a bit obsessive about their care. They have to shine to make my house feel clean!

Organization is my thing. The place may be covered in dust, but I know where every. single. scrap of paper is and everything has a place. I would love some fancy products to really help me make the place gleam!

I hate it when people let their toothbrushes get all gunky. I always make sure to rinse mine completely clean, and I replace it as soon as it starts to show signs of wear.

    KEEP IT CLEAN!

The inside of my front loader washer needs to be squeeky clean and dry because it smells musty if I just shut the door at the end of my laundry day.

The other thing that needs constant cleaning – my new granddaughter’s bum! And I love every minute of the interaction with her while she’s on the changing table.

KEEP IT CLEAN! Cleaning gradually comes to be a self-rewarding process. It’s simply nicer to live in a tidy space where things can be seen and enjoyed. The occasional new tool or product adds a nice bit of additional motivation.

Keep it clean! I have a myriad of obsessions, but house cleaning is not one of them. I do work hard to keep the kitchen clean, laundry done, rooms dusted, vacuumed and tidy. And I only use plant-based, essential oil fragranced cleaning products for all home and personal cleaning and laundry. So I guess that’s my obsession. Can’t wait to try the Murchison-Hume products.

KEEP IT CLEAN! I really need the bathroom sink and faucet to be clean, especially when we have guests. My husband likes to have people over to play cards when I am out of town for work, and even though I know his buddies won’t care about the water spots on the faucet, it is a requirement that he clean it before they are allowed over. Nothing else must be cleaned immediately before they arrive, but that is a requirement!

Having a place for everything is key….I am allergic to cluttered counter tops. With three kids the bath counters get soapy/messy quick. I keep a wash cloth on the bath counters to do a quick swipe whenever I’m in the room. It helps to keep the space visitor friendly.

Keep It Clean!! I say that a lot around here. I spend all day cleaning and then the kids come home and things get messed up (I know that is the way it goes). I say to them, keep the bathroom clean or keep your bedroom clean because I just cleaned it up! LOL But what I obsess about is the kitchen. That always has to be cleaned first before anything else.
