Yes, this freebie is about cleaning, but the “nice” part of my post title risks being a major understatement. For instance, would you call this incredible Australian house that we virtually crashed back in February just “nice?”
Of course not. It’s amazing. Which is why we’re excited that those very homeowners are also the geniuses behind the luxurious and superbly eco-friendly cleaning line called Murchison-Hume. Even more excitingly, they’re sending over $250 worth of luxe home-cleaning products to one lucky reader’s casa (feel free to drool, since you’ll soon have something to clean it up with).
So why do we love Murchison-Hume? Let’s start with the design: vintage apothecary-style bottles that make any countertop photo-shoot ready. Then there’s the eco part. All products are premium organic and are based in the same technology that cleans up oil spills, meaning they’re completely non-toxic. Oh, and of course there’s the fact that they actually work – and smell great (mmm, Australian White Grapefruit). I am a teacher, so I am obsessive about germs….I must clean my hands/hand sanitize.
I also have a big fear of raw meat, so I obsessively clean the kitchen when cooking….
The rest of the house can be a disaster if it wants to be ;)

I am obsessive about my kitchen counters. I can’t stand them looking cluttered or dirty. They are cleaned the most often, well anything in the kitchen but the floor. Its the first place people notice when they come in my house b/c you can see the kitchen from the major entry points of my house.

I am obsessive about almost everything! My husband thinks my quirkiest trait is that when I do the washing, the pegs have to match each other (by item) and they have to match the item – e.g. white shirt has 2 white pegs etc.

Love that you guys are featuring these products as they are just SO beautiful. I am lucky enough to be a Sydneysider and am so happy to see a “local” product getting a plug. I really love the little extras like the wooden cleaning caddy and the cute laundry bags.
Laundry is definitely my cleaning obsession. Love the smell and feel of clean sun-dried sheets when I am folding the laundry from the clothes line.

Sometimes my house is a mess, clutter everywhere, dust sitting happily on shelves, and bits and pieces in the carpet. I just don’t have the energy to keep up with a husband and two dogs ALL the time… but one thing I am fussy about is the way the house smells. I love a fresh breeze and a light candle or spray wafting through the house, even if it still needs to be dusted. :)

Keep it Clean!! The best way for me to make cleaning more enjoyable is to blast some music. A little Black Eyed Peas or Bare Naked Ladies make cleaning up much faster and fun. I guess my biggest cleaning obsession would be the kitchen. I like my counters clear and clean or I just can’t cook a thing!
