Fab Freebie: This Is Your Pilot Writing

***This giveaway  is now closed – see who won below! ***

Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!

This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.

Pilot Pen Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Pilot.="nofollow">

PILOT ME! I typically keep a pencil and pen around to write notes, but I like making list on the dry erase board.

    PILOT ME!!

I love writing on everything. There are some pens I would rather write with than others but for the most part I use what is around (I don’t like using my favorite pens for fear of losing them!) <–Now that's weird.
So I write on everything and anything with whatever is handy. My purse and pockets are filled with random notes. But if I have a choice of using a colored pen….that is my first choice.

PILOT ME! I am 100% devoted to Pilot Precise V5. “Extra Fine” is right. They write like a dream and last forever. Normally I’m a very “digital” girl (anyone else hearing Madonna in their heads?) but I do keep a notebook in my purse and frequently write things down in it. If I’m on a computer anyway, Google Docs is an excellent way to keep notes and reminders that I can access from anywhere!

I’m all about gel pens at work, but have to be careful since I’m left-handed and the gel smears so easily. At home, I take notes in whatever writing instrument I can find close by that actually works.

Ha, I live by Pilot Razor Point Extra Fine and it’s all I have written with for years. They’re scattered all over my car, house, in my purse, etc. so I literally am never without a (good) pen for any time I need one.

PILOT ME! I’m a bit of a pen and paper fanatic and use a variety of different pens (fountain pens are my favorite) and different papers for different purposes. It drives my husband BONKERS. I still keep a paper planner and everyone in the family has a different color; I doodle with fountain pens; I scrapbook using archival pens (still can’t find one I really, really like). This would be awesome!!!!!

PILOT ME! I don’t often enter the giveaways, but this one really speaks to me because I am a teacher and I am very picky about my pens! I am in love with the Pilot G-2’s and I use a rainbow of colors for writer’s journals for my students, to grade papers, and to also work in our reader’s notebooks and interactive math journals. They are the best pens!

I always have a ballpoint pen in my purse for any writing needs when I’m on the go, and have a variety of pens and pencils around the house. I’m not fussy about whether I’m using a pen or pencil in general, unless I’m trying to sketch something by hand and want a pencil so I can erase as I go. Not too much yet into electronic note taking, just don’t find them convenient and my phone isn’t that smart :)

I am loyal to what I refer to as my “check writing pen”…even though I hardly ever write checks, it is in my purse for when I need to use it. At home, I have a “wipe off plate” on an easel that I made after seeing this one (scroll down it’s the last item):

I think I could rival Sherry in list making, and that’s saying a lot! We have the same accordion folder/pad in our purses. I prefer to write with the Pilot B2P (bottle 2 pen) when making lists, unless I have to do math or write an essay without my computer, then it is all pencil (with a separate Sanford Magic Rub eraser). I also use Evernote on my laptop and Notes on my Mac. I have a composition-style notebook to keep project details contained, a small memo notepad in the car, and a notebook by my bed in case I have one of those brilliant ideas that wake you up while sleeping (the sort that you promptly forget when you wake up in the morning). I get completely giddy when school supplies roll out in the summer. (Band name! School Supplies!)

I adore putting pen to paper, especially with the disposable fountain pens (from Pilot, of course). I carry a notebook around all the time that’s my repository for work notes, home notes, shopping lists, garden sketches, to-do lists… It winds up being sort of an abstract journal. Love it!

I keep a pen in every purse so if I’m changing purses quickly before leaving the house, I don’t have to worry if it transfered. I write everything down on scraps of paper even though I have a smart phone. I could definitely use a better storage system for keeping my notes in line as I’m constantly finding old ones around the house…and in the bottom of said purses. :p

I do as much as I can electronically just so I can find it later. It’s just so easy to search my e-mail, etc. for keywords and find what would be gone forever if it was on a scrap of paper somewhere in the house.
