Fab Freebie: This Is Your Pilot Writing

***This giveaway  is now closed – see who won below! ***

Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!

This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.

Pilot Pen Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Pilot.="nofollow">

    PILOT ME!

I write contracts at work so I always need a great blue ink pen. Why blue ink? So once a contract is photocopied, you can easily tell which one was the original.

    Extra points for useless fact??

My husband gets a new box of Pilot V7 extra fine in his Christmas stocking every year! Always blue ink. Important for legal documents so you can tell the original from the copies. I have the same pens in my bag but in pink, purple and turquoise ink so I can make my notes more colorful!

OOHHHHHH, this one makes my heart flutter!!!!! I taught before staying home with my boys and NOTHING excites me more than going back-to-school shopping for either myself back in the day or now my boys! I love color-coding our calendars, making old-fashioned pen and paper lists, and still love sending and receiving cards in the mail. I’m all about writing and having the perfect utensil for the job. Someone will be very happily organized in 2013! :)

My phone calendar is so full of notes my husband constantly teases me about it. I love that its always with me and not one more thing I have to carry around!
But when it comes to crossing items off a list there is nothing like a good ol’ fashioned notepad! Love that feeling!

Lord almighty, I love a list. I definitely prefer pencils for my list making – I recently discovered some #2 1/2 pencils at my office and I am totally hooked. SO MUCH BETTER than #2!

But for letter-writing and such at home, a nice fat marker pen is my fave for sure.

    PILOT ME!

My mom was a secretary and I always remember how she used her Pilot pens to scribble on notepad paper while she was on the phone. She would say “Oh, they are just doodles” but to me they were the most beautiful pieces of art. I used to hang them up in my room and act like I had classy abstract art on my walls haha!

Now I am lost with my Pilot pens! The way the ink always runs so smoothly lets my creative juices run freely instead of getting frustrated with clogged ink!

I have tried to get into digital note-taking/list-making/organization, etc, but it just doesn’t work for me. I love a pen and pad of paper with a line drawn down the middle. Left side: work, right side: home. Plus, the satisfaction of crossing things off!

I do a mix of pen/paper (random notes and personal notes) and digital (for school/work). My preference is pen/paper, but I like the organizational aspects of digital.

My favorite pen is the Dr. Grip gel pen – I have several that I keep stashed in various places so that I’m never without one. I only use pencils (always mechanical pencils) for math/engineering work.

I keep pens in strategic places around the house for note taking and list making. My husband is not allowed to use them because he “forgets” to put them back. So when he does I “forget” to not dump all his pens on his office floor until I find mine. I’ve tried the phone/tablet lists, but it’s not the same, I can’t get the hang of it. I’m a pen person.
