Fab Freebie: This Is Your Pilot Writing

***This giveaway  is now closed – see who won below! ***

Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!

This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.

Pilot Pen Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Pilot.="nofollow">

    PILOT ME

Maybe it’s the artist in me, but I usually have three or four felt tipped pens, several pencils, and on occasion, a brush pen along with a pretty thick blank book in my purse.

My fancy phone does have a note taking app, but I’m pretty awful at using it -and I’m the only person at my techy job who actually uses post it notes and pens. Oops!

    Pilot me!!

My favorite way to take notes is using a ballpoint pen with a fine point (always black ink) and two thin notebooks in different colors. They go with me everywhere. One is for recording notes on things I want to write about on my websites, and the other is for the book I’m writing. I was given two Field Notes books for Christmas and just love them!

PILOT ME!! I’m a slave to my paper notebook planner/calendar. I buy one every year (usually the from B&N) in the late fall and then have current year and next year overlap for a bit. I love a good think point felt pen. Pens and paper always beat my boring Outlook calendar. Awesome giveaway!

I am a big fan of writing stuff down, it helps me to remember. I like ballpoint in black in in a medium or wide. Although it is hard to separate me from my computer, I still remember stuff better when I have written it down. For work, I keep all of my notes in a spiral notebook.

PILOT ME! I always carry a varied supply of writing implements for this reason. When I was in college I was filling out a form in my professor/advisor’s office. He had a can of about 200 different pens, pencils, etc. on his desk. I asked if I could borrow one to fill out my form. He asked me what I was studying. (He knew I was studying theatre design or he wouldn’t have been my advisor.)I told him and he informed me that a designer should always have something to write with on her person just in case she saw something inpiring to sketch or an idea floated across her brain that she might want to write down. I got it. Jo @ Let’s Face the Music

I’m insanely fussy about my writing utensils. I only like very fine point pens and they have to be smooooth. And they can’t leak. I hate a leaky pen!

I’m a journalist so I ALWAYS have a pen (and usually several) with me at all times. Even though I don’t report as much as I used to, old habits die hard.

I would love to say that i ALWAYS have a pen in my purse, because that would show i’m organized and on top of things..but that would be a lie. I have a million pens at home and work, and can NEVER keep one in my purse. I dont know how or why..but i just cant. I do love a good pen though, as long as it writes smooth, i’m good to go.

Thank you for the great giveaway.

My favorite way to take notes or messages with colorful post-its and pens. I always have pens in my purse and everywhere else I can. You never know when you’ll need one. I try to take more notes digitally with the Notes App on the iPhone, but it’s a hard transition to make and I can’t stick those to my wallet, fridge, etc.
