Fab Freebie: This Is Your Pilot Writing

***This giveaway  is now closed – see who won below! ***

Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!

This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.

Pilot Pen Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Pilot.="nofollow">

Pilot me! I tried using my phone to keep a list, but I tend to ignore it. So, it’s better for me to see the paper on the counter. Also, I use to work for an office supply company. I got to try a lot of different pens. My all-time favorite pen is the G2. It writes so smooth.

PILOT ME! – addicted to Pilot pens. I buy them by the box, and I have to keep them locked away in my desk to keep my cowarkers from permanently ‘borrowing’ them!

I’m constantly scribbling down to-do lists in my notebook of the momment — I’m a serial list-maker :)

I used to be a sticky note girl, with endless lists on endless notes. But more and more I’m completely reliant on my phone. Wunderlist lets me get the satifaction of checking things off and it syncs between devices so my lists are always with me. There’s still nothing like a good ol’ pen and paper list though. Love it.

Pilot me! My fave pen is by far a pilot pen in extra fine. I must admit my fave way of keeping organized is by lists in Notes since they sync from phone to computer, so I can make a note when online and then have it with me when I’m shopping. Evernote is similar but not as easy to access.

PILOT ME! My husband has a buuuuuunch of business cards from when he was an intern (he was hired on after graduation, and got all new cards, since the old ones were clear about his intern status), so we use them for making short lists for the grocery or home improvement store. They worked great in the ID pocket of my old wallet, but I just got a brand new fancy big wallet with no clear ID pocket. Hmmm, I’ll have to find a new system!

I swear by writing stuff down – sometimes I write it down just to cross it off!

I use mechanical pencils – a hold over from my engineering schools “no pens” policy. I have to use 0.7 mm lead due to my handwriting/style.

    PILOT ME!

I have about 63 MILLION little notebooks floating around me – in my laptop case, in my purse, on my desk – and at least that many pens. And then, like a true dork, I go through them and compile them in my big 3 ring binder.

Most of my lists fall into three big categories – work, recipes, or home decor, so they get filed accordingly. Sometimes I take pictures of my list with my phone so I can have them all in one place.

Yes, I am a list dork. And proud of it!

    Pilot me!

I’m pretty sure I’m an organizational glutton – meaning that I love to collect nice pens, address books, organizational magazines, pins on pinterest. You name it, I’ll hoard it. I’ll raise my hand and honestly admit that I am a functioning procrastinator. Therefore I have lots of handwritten post-it notes with half-lists of groceries, errands, to-do’s. I have organizational apps filled with things I already did last week. I could use the “new mom” excuse, but my daughter is nine months old. Maybe it’s time to “get on that, already”?

Pilot me! I keep a notebook and sticky notes by my computer for jotting down ideas while I’m designing (I know, it’s silly to use paper while on a computer, it just helps my creative juices flow!), but I do all my grocery lists and other lists on my iPhone.

I have a spiral notebook to help me keep track of notes at work that way I can go back and make sure I’ve checked off every phone call I need to return, etc. For home stuff I keep all my notes in my iphone but my 18 mo old just deleted all my notes (oops) so I might need a new system for that!
