Fab Freebie: This Is Your Pilot Writing

***This giveaway  is now closed – see who won below! ***

Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!

This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.

Pilot Pen Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Pilot.="nofollow">

    Pilot me!

I always have a pen or pencil and paper on hand, especially when I have yarn with me. I need to sketch out design ideas and stitch patterns when knitting or crocheting. Whether I’m writing my own pattern or using somebody else’s, it inevitably gets changed as I’m working on it – or inspires another idea. I always start out with hard copies (and keep the hard copies) before making a digital copy.

Pens. Always pens. I always have at least 2 Pilot G2 pens- ultra fine (.38) on me at all times.

I keep thinking I’ll go digital. But my collection of notebooks and pens laugh at that thought…

    PILOT ME!

I am totally digital; I take notes, make appt, set reminders, and create shopping lists all on my iPhone… I would seriously be lost without it! But I have recently gotten into the smash booking fad and have had tons of fun jotting down little quotes and memories in my smash book :)

PILOT ME! I am always making lists and jotting stuff down as I think of it. Because of this, I have a pad of paper in almost every room of the house: by my bathroom sink, by my bed, kitchen, living room, office. I typically use a pen and love pens of all colors!

PILOT ME! I have a tendency to do my best brainstorming and thinking while driving on my hour plus commute each way every day, so I’m prone to leaving myself voicemails at work or shooting a quick email from my phone to work. It seems funny when I think about it but works everytime as my reminder the next morning!

I always take notes and make lists, usually on graph paper notepads. My favorite pens are Pilot’s Varsity fountain pens. They make list-making even more fun!

I am also a compete nerd when it comes to pens. G-2 Pilot in blue and a mini notebook that goes everywhere with me. I am a list lover, not a fighter:) And, just between you and me, a trip to an office supply store leaves me giddy with excitement.

Colored Micron pens were my weapon of choice in college and continue today. I jot down notes on paper, but if something is important, it is straight to the phone as a digital reminder. Best not to rely on the sketchy memory :)

    PILOT ME!

I either scribble a note with a ball point pen (I prefer black ink) or add it to a note app on my phone if we’re out. I love when I can scratch something off my paper to do list- it gives me so much more pleasure than just deleting it off my phone.

Pilot me! I love looking back on composition books full of random notes I’ve made over the years. I’ve kind of gotten out of the habit since my toddler took over the universe – but it is so fun to look back at things I thought were funny or important in those books. Come to think of it, I should start doing that again, because what is more hilarious than a toddler?
