Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

PILOT ME!
I love a good list :) My favorite thing to do is give the list big dramatic titles (instead of “to do before Friday” I’ll put something like “72 hours to fabulousness!”)

I have a minor obsession with Pilot G2 pens. I always start the year trying to keep track of things on my phone/calendar but end the year using the backs of envelopes and any other scraps I can find.
Jenny J. says
Pilot me! I keep a purple pen in my planner for all my note taking. It is quick and easy!

Tami o says
Pilot me! I always have pens and sticky notes on me, but, I am trying to be a little more digital and take notes using my iPad in meetings and classes!
Elizabeth says
PILOT ME! Pen and paper for me! If I don’t physically write something down, it doesn’t seem to get filed into my brain properly.
Jenny E says
PILOT ME! I keep my calendar in pencil so I can make changes easily. Our family uses pens every day for art work, homework and organization. Despite my fascination with technology……there is nothing so soothing to my mind than using a pen to write a to do list on paper!
GingerMae says
PILOT ME!! I stick with the good old fashioned pen and paper.

At work I’ll reach for a post it, but personal notes have been going into my phone. I have a running list for things I need at Target and use the “reminder” app to take care of timely needs.
Nicolas says
Pilot Me! I’m so mixed up with trying to stay organized it’s insane. I was trying to be all-digital up until about two months ago, when I finally decided to bite the bullet and get a regular day planner that I force myself to fill out at least one week in advance (and yes, in pencil) so that I can be as organized as possible, but still flexible.

I love pens. I love paper. I love making lists. Seriously, I have lists about my lists! Of course I can’t perfect this art except by using my trusty pens ( I love the Pentel R.S.V.P pens and the Pilot G2 color pens) and some cute notebook.

I love a smooth writing black medium point pen. Never blue ink on the to-do list and there is no logical reason for that preference.
Thank you for the chance to win!

PILOT ME! I am a fan of a thicker point gel type pen myself. However, if I am making something like a grocery list, I have to do it on my phone or it is guaranteed to be left at home.

Pilot Me!I mostly love to use mechanical pencils so I can erase, but I like a good pen for the serious stuff, like lists and note taking.
Sara @ Beautifully Contained says
pilot me! I like fine tip markers…preferably in pink for taking notes that are just for me. If its something that other people are going to see for work, I usually pick a more subdued color ;)

PILOT ME YO! I always have a pen and paper with me! I love technology but I get joy from writing things out. Keeps me organized and I love to cross things off!
PS- Love this giveaway… noting better than pens and TARGET!
Charli says
Pilot me! I’m a gel pen and multiple notebooks and binders kinda girl. One notebook for daily to do lists, another for grocery lists, another stays in my purse for emergency note taking ( along with a pen or two of course), another for journaling, another for scripture study. Binders for household organization, meal plans, chores, etc.

I have an Outlook calendar for scheduling work appointments, but I do long term calendaring in an awesome ringed binder calendar thingamajigger. And, I prefer to do most entries in pencil, unless it’s super important and I know the date won’t change!
Ruth Ellen says
Pilot Me!! – ok, I prefer the cheap med blue pen – b/c I always lose them! And I keep the notes in a steno pad, b/c I always go back to my notes…

i love fat pens, preferably gel, but i mostly use free ink pens that i’ve picked up at career fairs and conferences.
Lauren O'C says
PILOT ME!! I cut scrap paper – like fliers from school, ‘sticker’ projects, any paper used on only one side – into fourths, staple on one side and – voila! – free colorful notepads! they are everywhere in my home and in all my bags. accompanied by various pens and pencils, of course. i love mechanical pencils, fine-point sharpies, and calligraphy markers. but my favorite is the pilot precise v5, most sincerely.
Emily W says
PILOT ME!!! I always keep a piece of paper and pen in my purse, but occasionally jot notes on my phone, as well!
Wendy says
PILOT ME! I write only with a Pilot Razor Point Extra Fine. Sometimes I use a sticky note, sometimes right in my planner. I get cranky if I have to use a scratchy or blotchy pen.
Sarah Snell says
Pilot me!!
I actually use dual writing utensils in my address book. Yes I still keep a handwritten address book. I use pen for the names and pencil for the address since those change.
Meghan says
PILOT ME!!
I have to hand write things…it helps me remember. Love a good fine tip pen (ballpoint, flare or gel). Fancy 0.05 mechanical pencils were always on my Christmas as a kid!
Rachel says
PILOT ME! I use whatever’s handy – usually a pen from our now-organized “junk” drawer in the kitchen and a post-it. I’ll occasionally use the notes feature on the iPhone, but I usually forget I’ve written something there.
Julie Johnson says
PILOT ME!
I keep a pen and small notepad in my purse ready to take notes at all times.
