Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

PILOT ME!!! I keep a pencil in my to go calender. Use Sharpies for labeling things for the kids, and I love the smooth writing ones for my journal. I also use green pilot pens to grade my students papers– I just do not like red for corrections! Not an electronic list maker at all!

PILOT ME! A pen that works is all I ask…
Ingrid says
Pilot me! I can never have enough post-it notes! I tend to write quick notes on post-it and then keep running lists and daily tasks in my handy notebook :)
Jenna says
PILOT ME! I love ballpoint pens and mechanical pencils… I always keep one of each in my purse plus a little spiral notebook for when an idea strikes. I got an iPad for Christmas, though, so I think my preferred method might be changing as soon as I get a stylus. :)

PILOT ME!
I ALWAYS have a pen and an asortment of notebooks with me. In my purse, laptop bag, desk, nitestand. I love lists! And it’s way more fun to make a list with fun pens!
Rhiannon F. says
Pilot me! I have to keep a pen around at all times (my hand often doubles as paper when there is none to be found). I prefer ballpoint, but you gotta use what you got.
shawna says
pilot me! i’m a doodler and a note taker, so I love a good pen and paper…if i can’t find a post-it note, i’ll use the back of whatever i can find to preserve the moment of inspiration or the to-do item! my phone/ipad work, but only in dire cases where no pen is available!
Kelli says
Pilot Me! I absolutely LOVE Sharpies!!
kate says
Pilot me!
I have to have a variety of different colored pens at the read at all times. It just makes any boring notes more fun if you can color code them.
malibou says
PILOT ME! I do love me a plain old ball point pen for writing checks and such. But I can’t keep my hands off of colored pens. Any kind will do.
Dinah says

I take notes down on almost everything! Post it notes, sketchbooks, notebooks, handmade calendars, etc. I tape post it notes to my iphone so that I can never “close it.” Apps are just easier to ignore when you know you have stuff to do but don’t want to do, right?
Linda says
PILOT ME!
Totally old school here…pen & paper in purse…check.
tia henson says
Pilot me!
I’ll write on anything I usually have a few calendars, a notebook and a sketchbook available and pilot happens to be my favorite thing to write with right now.
Jenna says
Pilot me! I’m mostly using my phone these days. I put my grocery list on my phone’s notepad, a list of songs I want to download on iTunes, websites I want to remember to visit, etc.
Jordan says
PILOT ME! I take notes on my cellphone, usually by making a draft of a text message and not sending it. Unfortunately, I rarely remember to look at my drafts. Maybe I should go back to pen and paper…
Joanna says
Pilot me!
Definitely with a black pen in my Moleskine pocket notebook that I keep with me all the time.
Katie says
PILOT ME!
I keep a pad of paper magneted (is this a word?) to my fridge, so as I think of things, I scribble them down with a nearby ink pen, or Sharpie, or eyeliner…whatever I can find.
Everything work-related is kept in my Outlook calendar. I’d never remember to do anything if it weren’t for electronic reminders!
Pamela Whitaker says
Pilot Me!
I love the Pilot Frixion erasable pens. I carry them in my purse and write in my daily planner with the pretty pink, green and purple colors. Make a mistake…erase, erase, erase. I even use them at work.
Amanda says
I not only love pens, but I love pens in multiple colors. If my notes aren’t color coded then my brain freaks out. There is just something so calming about it.
Julie M. says
P i l o t m e ! Love the blue retractable pens!
Heather McClure says
PILOT ME! I am a pen and paper junkie. I am constantly jotting down to-do lists and other notes. I have little scraps of paper everywhere. I don’t think I’ll ever be someone who can use their phone for notes. There’s a certain satisfaction of crossing things off your list.
Michelle B says
PILOT ME!
I’m a pen lover. I carry a ton of them in my purse with me, and always jot down whatever I need. I tried to go digital, but it just wasn’t as fun as writing with a cool pen in an awesome color!
Lauren H says
PILOT ME!
I’m a total pen girl! I have to have a black or blue ball point on hand at all times.
Steph says
Pilot me!!
I haaaate pencils but love felt tip pens!
Valerie says
PILOT ME! Not sure why, but I have also loved mechanical pencils!
Julie says
PILOT ME!
I like all forms…pens, pencils, and digital. If I have a good pen/mechanical pencil, I’m more like to physically write out my notes, but if all I have is a bad pen/regular pencil, digital it is! I swear the writing utensils determine my handwriting – it can be excellent or horrible!
Danielle says
PILOT ME!
I strictly use my Notes app on my iPhone! That way it is always with me to updates notes as needed and I don’t have to try and remember when I get home.
Whitney says
PILOT ME!

I am a digital girl thanks to my hubby, he has converted me to all things digital, my ipad and my cell are my must haves at all times. But with all these cool items I could be converted!I would stash these baby’s allover..

I always love new art supplies :)
Carmen says
Pilot me! I use a little bit of everything… I keep a notepad doc opened on my laptop to take notes, but I also make lists (many, many lists…) on paper. And I carry a pen and tiny notebook in my purse just in case inspiration strikes when I’m out!
Karen says
PILOT ME!
I’m a fan of digital lists for my life outside of work, and I like handwritten lists for my daily work life. I like the whole cross it off the list when done. I feel very accomplished – even if it is only for making it to work on time! :)
Heidi B says
PILOT ME!!
I always have a pen and notepad handy (in my desk, purse, car, on the fridge, next to my bed). I want to be prepared whenever a thought or idea hits me…and I forget a lot of things, so I make lists about everything!! :)
Amanda says
Pilot me! I have a pen in my pocket and/or my purse at all times so I can write notes!
Amber says
PILOT ME!
Despite being in love with my iPhone and how iCloud automatically updates notes on my MacBook Pro, I still need to write stuff down if I’m going to remember it. It’s a bit annoying, but it works. Plus, I kind of have a fetish for office supplies. At least I have cute notepads and planners (but could always use more!)
Alyssa says
Pilot me!
I love a good pen and a desk full of stick notes. That’s my happy place!
Jessica says
PILOT ME! For work, I try to keep everything electronic but at home I’m all about lists- so I keep a ballpoint pen in every purse and notecards on my desk. Gotta make sure I don’t forget something when I’m dialing up a big Chinese delivery!
Valerie J. says
PILOT ME! Does marking a cross on my hand with a pen to remember stuff count? I used to do that but had to quit because I would have several little crosses on my hand but kept forgetting what the VERY important things I had to remember were.
Terra @ Simply Mrs. Edwards says
PILOT ME!
I love me a good ballpoint or gel ink pen and paper (or palm of my hand if I’m without paper :) )
PILOT ME! says
I love to write things down and crossing it out..but I never have a central place for it so I’m constantly switching it up between random notebooks, digital tasks, and calendar entries!
