Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

PILOT ME! I’m a huge fan of pen over pencil and prefer a blue fine point.

PILOT ME! Prefer pens over pencils and love making lists!
Ashley says
Pilot me!!
I love pens and paper! I always carry pens and paper with me and I may tend to get a little over excited about stationary! ;-)
Stephanie says
Pilot me! I have to hide my pens, pencils & notebooks. My 12 year old is a notebook/journal/pen/pencil-aholic, and “borrows” any that I have. So, usually, I end up with a pencil nub and a piece of torn off paper!
kay says
Pilot Me!
I love pens in a variety of color and keep one notebook to write everything down in. Once it is full I date it and move on to the next one!
Renee says
PILOT ME! I love to have scratch paper laying around. If only it would transfer itself to my phone then I wouldn’t lose them all the time!

PILOT ME!
While I’ve gone digitalized for most organization and note-taking, I have to admit– it’s not as fun! Call me old-fashioned but lining out items on a long list of to-dos is much more satisfying that checking an electronic box.

PILOT ME!
I love me a good gel pen. I’ve been known to check out the office supply room quite frequently to see if there’s any new pens in there that strike my fancy. There are currently 3 cups full of various gel pens that I’ve hoarded over the years. Not that I “need” anymore, but I would love to add to the pen collection!
Katie says

I am such an office supply hoarder that this is right up my alley! I still love pen and paper lists. There’s something satisfying about them.
Ursula says
Pilot Me! I love a little spiral notebook and a really good pen!
Laurie S says
PILOT ME! I am a pen hog – I test them all and hoard the ones I love. Then I stash those in a secret spot so my kids won’t get at them. I rely on one spiral steno pad to take all my notes in – work, home, etc. That way it stays all in one place!
Stewart says
PILOT ME. This giveaway is right up my alley! I’m a bit of a pen freak (and paper freak to go right along with it). **Fingers crossed**

Jennifer C. says
PILOT ME! I love to write with gel pens and keep a little notebook in my purse for this purpose! My husband and I have different pen widths, though. He like the fine point and I like the thicker points!

Amanda says
PILOT ME!!! (please!)
I’ve been taking notes in pen for so long it’s hard to think of using anything else! Pencil rubs off and becomes hard to read.
When writing letters, I prefer ink and nibs, though!
Teresa says
PILOT ME! Call me old school. I love paper. I love pens. I love ink on paper.
Casey says
PILOT ME!
I need this, because every time I need something to write with, I never have anything and I usually end up running around grabbing a random colored pencil or piece of crayon from my kids’ rooms (while they’ve usually made off with my good pens)!
Stephanie R says
PILOT ME!
I definitely prefer pencils. Plans change all the time so I like to be able to erase stuff on my planner and have it not look like a mess!
Ray says
PILOT ME!
Being a teacher you can never have enough writing utensils in class. I like to keep one behind the ear and one in the pocket. You can never be too prepared.

Jen C. says
PILOT ME! I’m an obsessive list maker & go on different writing implement “kicks.” Right now, I’m really into blue pen because I think it shows up better-esp. On computer print outs. I once went through a mechanically pencil phase in law school. That was intense. Haha

I’ll pretty much write with any utensil available – even lipstick in dire situations – as long as it’s on a colorful sticky note! :)
Melissa P. says
“PILOT ME!”
