Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

I have a terrible memory, so there’s always a notebook in my bag to jot stuff down. Once everything’s transferred from the notebook to the proper destination (Calendar or White board), the page is folded over so I can easily find the next blank page.

I use a variety of digital and tangible tools for note taking, sketching, and list making, but I mostly stick with a good ol’ pilot g-2 pen and dot grid notebook.

I haven’t mastered the ipod/iphone lists yet, but since day to day desk calendars were apparently not in the budget at work this year, I’m starting to have to use the “tasks” functions in Outlook. It’s pretty good and even draws a little line through the stuff that’s complete, so satisfiying :) But I prefer a good pen and my snowman notepad for all my lists at home.

I’m a notebook gal, even though i keep everything, and I mean everything on my phone calendar/memo, I must have it in writing. I log down anything from simple reminders to a full recipe as I’m watching Food Network. Although you can get these printed online, I love writing them down. Awesome giveaway!

I love colorful pens & markers and I have tons of them (you can NEVER have enough pens!) I am partial to plain old ballpoint pens but I’m always trying out new things. The erasable highlighters literally changed my life and I wish they made them back when I was still in school…love them!

PILOT ME!!!
I have pens scattered throughout my purse and car at any given time, but when I need one to make a note or write something it takes me at least 10 minutes to fine just one pen. My husband is an artist so most of his notes consist of pictures or short phrases which are his creative ideas. We make quite a team!
Mallory says
PILOT ME!
I am a list maker! If I do something during the day that wasn’t on my list, I will often add it just so I can cross it off!
Erin says
Pilot me! I’m a plain ‘ol pen and paper kinda girl.
Alissa says
Pilot me!
I love pilot G2 pens – they write so nicely. I use them to write to-do lists on a post-it note, which I then stick to the back of my phone. Yes, I have an iPhone…yes, it does have a notes app that I don’t use…but there is something about actually being able to touch the list itself that makes me remember!
Mandy Kuehn says
PILOT ME!
I keep a pen in my purse until I realize my 6 year old daugther steals it (she is a pen junkie too.) Even in this ditigal age I still have a to-do list since a computer can not give you the staisfaction of actually crossing something off your to-do list.
Alisha says
Pilot me!
I am really OCD about only writing with ultra fine point sharpie pens… not ‘fine’, not ‘extra fine’ … ULTRA fine. ;) I also always have a pretty Rifle Paper Co. notepad on hand, I love them.
Dominika says
PILOT ME! I always carry a small notebook and pen to update m TO DO list.
Rachel says
PILOT ME!
I like jotting things down with a pen and pad, but I usually misplace the pen, no matter how many I stick in my purse. Thus, I usually end up using an app on my phone to jot things down!
Kim Ellis says
PILOT ME! I love all things paper and pens, but I can’t seem to settle on one way to keep organized. Some things are written down and some go into the iphone…..argh. Maybe some new pens and paper would help me decide.
