Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

Pilot me!
I love medium pens. No fine pens for me. And I am also a sucker for a push up pencil.
Pamala says
Pilot me! I keep a running planner with a pen tucked into the binding! Perfect for crossing things off!
Camille says
PILOT ME! I always keep post-its and a pen along with a small notebook in my purse.
Jami says
Pilot Me!!
I am the queen of reminders and lists. And I still do it with pen and paper. I have notebooks for my more long-term to-do lists and lined post-its for reminders and grocery lists. I usually have some sort of reminder on the bathroom mirror. I don’t even own a smartphone, I am 33 and so old fashion. But nothing like the feeling on being able to physically scratch something of your to-do list!! Deleting it from a digital list just isn’t the same feeling at all. My man jokes about my lists but I’m a bit ADHD so EVERYTHING is written down to remember.
Katie says
pilot me please! Gotta love target and pilot <3
Leslie says
PILOT ME PLEASE!
Christine says
Pilot Me! I have multiple notebooks for different subjects but I’m just as likely to create a list on a scrap of paper or envelope.
Cindy says
PILOT ME! Notepad, all the way, baby!
Shana says
Pilot Me! I rather use a pencil than a pen. Much easier to erase your mistakes.
Pantea says
PILOT ME!
Love the Pilot Frixion pen for marking on fabric when sewing. Just have to wave a hot iron over it and the line is gone!
Amanda Reed says
PILOT ME! I’m a HUGE to-do list keeper. I love the sense of accomplishment I get when I cross things off my list, so many times I’ll add something to my to-do list even if it wasn’t there before, just to get the adrenaline rush from crossing it off. :) I tend to write everything in blue or black ballpoint pen and then cross it out with a thick permanent marker!!
Megan says
Pilot ME.

PILOT ME!
I am extremely picky with writing utensils because I’m a lefty. I don’t use pencils or easily smear-able pens because they leave my hands looking nasty. For the same reason I’m strictly a no-spiral-notebook kind of gal. Give me a fine tip, non smearing pen and a composition notebook any day :-)

Post-it’s and a nice fine tip sharpie help me write my lists. I need something to hold on to, digital doesn’t work for me!
Maegan says
PILOT ME!! I have an iphone with all the great apps, but I still have a paper calendar/planner and I write all my lists and notes on post-its that I stick into my planner. And, I use the Pilot G-2’s which I keep in my purse. :)
Mandy says
PILOT ME!
I love Pilot pens! They are the only kind I use. Pilot G-2 .07 in EVERY color. There’s even a running joke among my friends … “Do NOT mess with her pens!”
And, of course, I use my Pilots to jot notes … usually on any scrap of paper I can find. :)
Jaime says
PILOT ME!! I write all my to-do list with a pen (never pencil) in my purple notebook.

I just can’t get into using my phone for notes or lists – old fashioned pen and paper are my go-to for that! And I actually get teased about my abundant pen collection, I have soooo many!
Valerie says
PILOT ME!
I’m still old school and write everything out… and then duplicate in my gmail calendar. I remember things better when I write it.

Pilot me!
I am going to school to be an ESE teacher and LOVE pens. Because life is so busy right now I color code everything in my planner (need to see it written out, no phone calendar usage here!)….multiple colored pens required : )And naturally wanting to be a teacher = love of all office/school supplies!

I have been obsessed with pens since childhood. My favorite is colorful felt-tip pens. I keep them everywhere (purse, nightstand, kitchen, bathroom) together with a stack of post-it notes so that I can write my thoughts down any time!
Jill says
PILOT ME! I still take notes with pen and paper, and I agree that finding a good pen is important!
Kim says
PILOT ME please! I am a pen hoarder and love a good gel pen. I am a list maker at heart and always jot notes down on a notepad, although I’m known to write an important note down on my hand.

Scraps of paper and whatever pen is handy seem to work all right for me, though it means I have a half-dozen different lists in progress at any given moment, all floating around my desk/purse.
Colene E says
Pilot Me! I seem to always need a pen, and never find one in my black hole of a purse. That’s one of my goals for the year… organize my purse so I can actually find the things I need!
