Fab Freebie: This Is Your Pilot Writing

***This giveaway  is now closed – see who won below! ***

Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!

This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.

Pilot Pen Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Pilot.="nofollow">

I’m all over the place – i use a notebook, a dry erase board on the fridge and Evernote, among other things.. But there is nothing better than a list on a fresh notepad with a brand new pen! Happy, happy.

    PILOT ME!

I’m super picky about writing utensils… I have mechanical pencils from 7th grade… 15 years ago!

I’ve tried using technology, but really, nothing beats ball point pen and notebooks or post-its.

I take notes for work in my Levenger notebook (I’m not brown-nosing).

Personal stuff goes on the iPad. When I try and take notes for work on my iPad, I’m not as focused.

Pilot Me! What a terrific freebie for someone who finds herself writing to do lists, checklists, thought lists, wish lists, you name it kind of lists all day long! I write them on dry erase boards, on backs of envelopes, in spiral notebooks, on the back of my kids endless piles of drawings and, of course, in Evernote, which I LOVE!! Pens and Thin washable Markers are always my choice – if i mess up I just re-write!!

I’m constantly writing down notes and take my day planner and a journal with me everywhere I go. I was using Sharpie pens for a while but have realized they just don’t stand up to the long-term commitment of writing. I wish I was one of those people who always had a pen in their purse!!

I use G-2 .38 for my Moleskine project, which you can see on my website, and I’m a writer currently doing The Artist’s Way project and would love love love Levenger goodies to write my assignments in. I’ve frequently referred to Levenger on Twitter as my writer’s/productivity porn. I love their catalog, plus Pilot’s G-2 and their disposable fountain pens are my favorite writing tools!!

At the office, I am lost without my calendar book. Everything goes into it… or it doesn’t happen.
But at home, for keeping track of my husband’s and my schedules/flights/to-dos/etc, It all goes on the google calendar so we can both see it on our respective iphones.

I’m definitely a post-it person now, but in college when I was super organized, I had a planner and 6 different colored pens. I assigned a color to each class/activity and the planner had all my assignments and events written on the appropriate date in the assigned color. I only wish I was still that organized!

Pilot me! As an artist, I write wherever I can with whatever is around. Napkins, pencils, the corner of receipts, my hand, pens, sharpies…you get the idea. BUT, if given the choice, I love a smooth ink pen that will give me that rich, dark, definite line. It makes me feel instantly artsy…even if my list is for chores ;-)
