Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

First spring in a new (old) house = restoring the original windows and painting the entire exterior. And if I win this prize, perhaps I’ll be able to throw “make the house look like we don’t have 3 cats” into the mix, too!

We will be tackling the closets, the windows, all the blinds. Oh goodness just everything. Plus we just had remodeling done so dust is everywhere! And dog hair, it’s never ending. :)

Continual wind= continually dusting and vacuuming. A new vacuum with a hose attachment would be lovely.

CLEAN ME!!! My spring cleaning starts with the cleaning out of closets and getting rid of close we no longer wear. Next step, all the carpets are cleaned, baseboards are wiped, and the main rooms get a fresh coat of paint, or a brand new color. Then we move it outside where all the windows are washed and the deck is cleaned. Ah, that feels good just to talk about it. Can’t wait for it to be completed!

    Keep up your good work!

CLEAN ME! I start spring cleaning by sorting everything into piles (storage, donate, or trash). I then wipe down everything and vacuum every inch of my house. After all of the dirty work is done I reward myself by rearranging things and, if necessary, buying a few things to make my home feel more updated.

A bag a day for forty days out of the house…to GW or garbage or for a yardsale (Bag size changes from large, black garbage, to small store plastic one.) Best purge so far was cleaning out my recipes.

We just moved into our house, so spring cleaning is sort of getting lumped in with “settling in” this year. But I do have a growing pile of purged items waiting for a Good Will run. And I am SO excited for the snow to melt, so we can start poking around in the garden!

Spring cleaning? Well I’ll have to soon because I have family coming for a visit in April, and it might be nice for them to be able to actually use the bedroom closets (currently stacked high w/boxes from our move-in in late Oct. 2009). Honestly, it’s all I can do to keep up with the tumbleweed fur balls that our two cats shed-off daily. Fingers crossed for the big win on this giveaway!

    CLEAN ME!

My spring cleaning involves doing the down and dirty, “non-weekly” items like washing windows, cleaning cupboards in the kitchen, getting to ALL the dust bunnies in the various nooks and crannies, and just a general clean of everything. I also like to take the time to go through closets and filter out old clothes for donation.

We are remodeling our bathroom so I’m considering that part of our spring cleaning! I’ve also tackled the cleaning of our windows, painting of kitchen, reorganizing craft/office, dusting (this seriously doesn’t happen enough so I consider this special :). We are getting ready to have a garage sale too, then the rest to a local charity!

Oh, boy. We have a HUGE list of stuff to do around the house this spring! We are having our first little one, and we are not even close to being ready. We have to completely clean out our computer room to make it into the nursery. In order to do that, though, we have to make room elsewhere for all this stuff that has just been packed in here. Closets, nooks, windowseats–nothing is safe! It all has to be cleaned out, rearranged, or taken down.

I do a clothing swap party every few months with my girlfriends. Its great, we have a fashion show, make fun of some old trends, let go of the emotional dependency we have on certain items, and in the end we get a few ‘new’ items and the leftovers we donate to Good Will! Next one is coming up in April!
