Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    CLEAN ME :)

My husband and I along with our Boston Terrier, Rocky, are expecting our first child in September. Since learning the great news we have been busy cleaning out rooms and sprucing up our house. Our first project was our living room. We had the floors refinished recently and have just finished painting. We are looking for some new area rugs and window treatments to complete the room, but for now we are moving on to the kitchen which is ready for fresh paint and a backsplash!!

    CLEAN ME!

We have one twenty pound mancoon cat who sheds normal-cat-size balls of fur. This broom looks amazing. We need one.

I start my Spring cleaning in March. Every Saturday I tackle one room, cleaning every single corner, shelf and cubby hole. I throw away anything that hasn’t been touched in four months and I reorganize all our “collections.” It’s quite the process, but so rewarding mid- April when I’m finished. This year, I hope to keep it organized through the summer….. lofty ambition but I think we can do it!

    CLEAN ME!!

I live in a land of snow…thus gravel tends to creep into every corner of my house. When I feel like it is finally Spring it is time to de-gravel the messiest room of the house – THE MUDROOM!! This involves tons of sweeping, vacuuming, washing and repeat!

It is a delicate balance…can be disastrous if you clean this room too early. Just like washing the kid’s winter coats too soon & then a huge freaky Spring snowstorm hits!

Focusing on one room per week and doing a complete clutter overall – getting rid of things no longer needed. Much less overwhelming when you concentrate on one room at a time.

    CLEAN ME please!!!!

Recently, I’ve completely reorganized my kitchen, in anticpation of knocking down one of the walls (between the kitchen & dining room) & loosing half the cabinets in the kitchen. I also have a 7 month old on the verge of crawling, so there’s been lots of child proofing & cleaning up the hardwood floors–it’s amazing how much is tracked in from the backyard from the ones who don’t know how to wipe their feet—my husband & dog.

My spring cleaning involves picking up tons of dog hair tumbleweeds that seem to populate every corner of my house. Oh wait, I clean up dog hair tumbleweeds all four seasons. Darn shedding loveable mutt! Actually, I just this past weekend started rearranging the rooms and have been cleaning up a lot of dust that has been hidden under furniture.

Oh, I could really use a new vacuum. My current one flings dried grout chunks, pieces of dog kibble, and anything else it doesn’t feel like suctioning out the back at my feet!

I plan on hyper-organizing the kitchen once the new countertops are installed in a few weeks. Might as well since everything has to come out of the lower cabinets.

it’s almost Passover, so I’ve started clearing out the pantry without restocking it as well as slowly and thoroughly cleaning the entire apartment, one area at a time, so that we can super-clean more easily to make sure we’ve gotten out all the chummetz (non Passover kosher stuff).
