Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

CLEAN ME! When you live in MN, spring cleaning doesn’t start for quite some time yet. I should start at least thinking about it though!

    CLEAN ME!

Having experienced higher than average temperatures and beautifully sunny days here in Southern Ontario (Canada) for the past few days my mind has quickly started tallying up all the spring cleaning chores I can get started on.

In fact, the husband and I just had about chat how soon would be too soon to put the furniture back out on the deck!

Thinking it will be a few weeks yet but we are raring to go.

    CLEAN ME…

Winter came late to the party in my neck of the woods – so I’m waiting for the snow/sleet/hail/*brrr* cold rain to stop before I get the cleaning/organizing festivities underway. Must have the motivation, you know.

First on the list is a de-junking, Purge Me trip through the house…

Can’t wait for the first day of warm weather. That is usually when I open up all of the windows to get some fresh air in the house and do a deep cleaning. Time to also get the yard ready!

My favorite way to kick off spring cleaning is washing my down comforter and pillows. I got a bit ahead of myself and washed them a few weeks ago, but hey, I live in LA! :)

I love spring cleaning! Well…I love how clean it is after! I like to clean the windows (storm windows, too) and vacuum and clean all of the baseboards and the corners of closets. With a 2 year old golden retriever we have hair all over the place. Also excited to build some raised vegetable gardens in the backyard…does that count as spring cleaning?!

    CLEAN ME!

I have huge checklists – organized by room and starting at the top of the room and moving to the bottom – for all phases of cleaning (light cleaning up to a seasonal cleaning that is pretty hardcore). I will have to redo it, because we just moved into a new house, but spring cleaning will commence soon!

Clean me! Shortly after we do our taxes, it’s time to unbox our spring clothes and put away our winter sweaters. We use the reorganizing time to identify clothes to donate. As we do this, we write everything down and save it to write it off on next year’s taxes so we can get a great refund once again!

CLEAN ME!! Well as comment post number 4553, I’m not holding my breath, although I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have a new vacuum cleaner! Our spring cleaning ritual is to rid the house of pet hair…after a long winter of hibernating through 70+” of snow, we have to vacuum literally every surface; floor, couch, window-sil…You name it, we vacuum it! This also includes washing every washable item we have. All duvet covers, rugs, sheets, dog beds, etc. As a home to two permanent dogs, one cat, and lots and lots of foster dogs, we definitely build up the hair!

Spring cleaning? What’s that? I hate cleaning, so it would be awesome to have the tools to make it as painless as possible. We do plan on scrubbing down all the windows and also moving all the furniture to clean whatever may have disappeared behind it.
