Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Already started some spring cleaning. Have posted on freecycle to give some stuff to someone else. Cleaned windows in bedrooms and sat out on the porch in the sun to imagine what my backyard wants to look like

We takled our coat closet. We hosted a party about a week after moving into our new home and in the process shoved a lot of misc. boxes in our coat closet. We’re sorting through them and organizing the closet. Next is the linen closet!

This isn’t exactly cleaning but my spring ritual of switching out my winter boots for the strappy sandals that sit at the top of my closet during the winter usually ends up with me cleaning out the rest of my closet.

This spring we are going to clean our windows. We live in Los Angeles and we had an actual winter this year so the rain really made our windows dirty. I’m actually looking forward to it because we are buying this handy gadget

We’re expecting a baby too! I’m in serious nesting mode with projects happening all over the house. My goal, too, this weekend is to clear out the nursery closet which is currently filled with all of my clothes. Our little baby will need some room for his/her clothes so it’s time to clean out my stuff! Thanks for all you do YHL!

    CLEAN ME!

We recently had to say goodbye to our housekeeper of nearly 10 years. She has been with us through the birth and messes of both of our children. The thing is, she came with a vacuum cleaner and left with it too. :( Both of them are sorely missed.

Our “spring” cleaning is woven into our schedule all year long. Each month we have at least one special cleaning project to tackle. Now that it’s warm again in Florida, we’ll be hitting the back patio and the outside windows.

I am working on purging everyone’s closets and dressers as well as my kiddo’s older toys and other random and extraneous items around the house. I’m really hoping to simplify our household this year, from the actual items in our home to the attention we pay to the home itself.

Every year I clean the AC filter. I think you are supposed to do it every month but I am proud that I think of it at least once a year. Also, we just bought a foreclosure house that has been vacant for over a year. We have plenty of dead bugs that require vacuuming and sweeping.

To be honest, there is no spring cleaning going on this year. We bought a house a few months ago that was unfinished, so we are basically living in a construction zone :-) Our spring goal is to get the floors put in downstairs instead of living on concrete! And, I would LOVE a new vacuum to clean those new floors!
